The Bucs’ defense is giving up 17 points a game — seventh best in the league. But it has given up 16 pass plays of 20 or more yards — fourth worst in the NFL. This is largely a function of Tampa Bay’s high-risk, high-reward scheme. If a player vacates his spot in coverage to blitz and doesn’t affect the quarterback, it creates a hole in the defense. On nine of those plays, the Bucs were blitzing. However, they’re giving up a touchdown only 27.3% of the time in the red zone — the second-best rate in the NFL — which allows them to take these gambles. — Jenna Laine
I gotta say this takeaway seems pretty damn accurate, we are a high risk, high reward defense right now. Bowles loves exotic plays and weird schemes to throw the QB off. Sometimes it works beautifully, other times we look like idiots. Antoine Winfield Jr is a freaking beast at Safety though, he wants another SB ring, you can tell. He also seems like a pretty nice guy off the field too.
It was very confusing why everyone was so down on us just because TB retired. We have a pretty stacked team. I’m very objective about my teams, so I wasn’t homering my opinion either. Anyway, I actually wish we were still ranked low so our boys stay hungry.
We’re approaching that part of the season where enough has happened where you can’t pretend teams are bad despite their success.
4 weeks is both not a whole lot of time, but certainly enough time to have a rough guess as to what teams are.
The Bucs are a good team. Certainly the best in the division. We’re nowhere near the 49ers, Eagles, or even Lions or Cowboys. But we’re in that next tier of playoff caliber teams.
I’m not sure if we’re going to be a top 10 team all year. But I certainly expect us to be a top 12ish team.
Lions are going to be a test for sure. But if we can win that game at home, it’ll be clear that nobody in this division would catch us, if we’re healthy.
Baker gonna earn himself a decent contract if he keeps playing like this. He’s not worth top money, but he’s in the same vein as Kirk cousins to me.
I think we could have beaten the eagles if a few things swung our way. It was a rough game all around.

Gotta love it.
Also, Sports Illustrated predicted we’d go 2-15.

Biggest issue on defense: Explosive pass plays

I’d much rather lay low at this point.
