Found an angle to show this awful “illegal contact” penalty. To make it even worse, the ball is punched out on the sack before cooper runs through or DB. People trying to say it was a justified penalty is total bs. It didn’t make the qb hold the ball longer to get sacked etc, he was already sacked. F the refs. Also for those who say we shouldn’t have made 4 turnovers to be able to lose to the refs etc. It’s not the point, it was an absolutely electric game from start to finish until refs killed the ending. Fans across the league are calling this bs, not just us homers.

We won. Twice.
I was debating trying to find this as well to see if they waited until the fumble to throw the flag like they did when the Jets were about to beat KC. Looks like it’s pretty close.
Also here’s the DPI. WR stepping out of bounds and the ball is so high it’s not even in the camera shot!

I haven’t found one person trying to call those penalties legitimate. This one stings for sure and it definitely kills my interest in the NFL near term. I don’t think I’ll be watching for a while. I paid good money to attend a game the Colts had won more than once, but officiating decided it wouldn’t count. What the point in watching a league that 1.) won’t own up to their trash officiating and 2.) doesn’t care how rigged it looks?
All that said, the Colts clearly have a bright future. Anthony Richardson looks legit, Shane Steichen is a good coach, the roster is better than expected and the team hasn’t been getting their doors blown off for the most part. The same cannot be said for Cleveland. They’re stuck with the Deshaun Watson contract for a few years because they simply cannot eat the cap hit from a 230 million guaranteed contract. Especially since they backloaded it to get around Watson’s suspension last year. They won the past two weeks off bogus officiating, which demonstrates they’re simply not capable of winning games. They put together a team they hoped would win now but they stand no chance at competing with Kansas City, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Miami, and frankly they wouldn’t beat San Francisco in a rematch. They don’t have a future. Watson sucks. PJ Walker will get obliterated by better pass rushers than Kwity and Dayo. They got away with two games but they’ll be lucky to win a playoff game before going back to football purgatory for the foreseeable future.
I just wanna say something that we can all agree on… the colts had won that game fair and square. That illegal contact “penalty” looked to be OPI with cooper running right through baker and continuing his route unimpeded. Let’s say it was illegal contact, walker fumbled the ball before that contact even took place. Don’t get me started on that PI call with the ball ending up in the first row of the seats. The fact that the refs didn’t even want to take time to look at these calls is what worries me. What’s the point of watching games and rooting for your team when the outcome is decided at the end by two bullshit calls. The zebras need to be held accountable just like everyone at their jobs. Time for an investigation to be launched. This was grade-A bullshit.
They even reviewed this play and still called illegal contact…
Score more points or stop them from scoring more, we can’t be depending on the refs to do their job competently.
Unpopular opinion, it’s probably better that we lost. I get it, those calls are 100% bullshit and makes the refs look shady as fuck. That being said, I think we can all agree we would rather the high pick than to win 6-7 games with minshew and miss out on top 5 talent.
I was so livid about this game last night, but at the end of the day, this team isn’t going to the Super Bowl or playoffs. Everyone take a breath, this year is a dress rehearsal for the young guys. get a high pick and let’s roll with AR5 next season.
Edit: we also have a fucking dawg for a coach. 38 pts on the best defence in the nfl with a backup qb. Brighter days ahead ladies and gents
NFL won’t do shit about it. Hell, remember last year’s Super Bowl where the field conditions were god awful and had players slipping and sliding left and right? And It’ll happen again. They don’t give a F**k about anything except making more money off us. NFL is shit. But they don’t care.
Thank you for finding this angle, it’s the part I was annoyed CBS never showed or brought up. We were over him so fast compared with the “illegal contact downfield” had to have some time to develop.
I’m primarily a Cowboys fan, but I live near Indy so I follow the Colts and Jesus Christ this is inexcusable. NFL needs to take firing whoever made those two calls into consideration, or at least make an investigation into why the fuck this keeps happening.
It honestly felt like the refs had a vendetta against the crowd at the end.
