This is so frustrating, even the fuckin bears were buyers. I feel Brad Holmes is so deathly afraid of trading away picks which is weird cause that all they did over in LA when he was there.
We’re one injury away from Will Harris starting as an outside corner or Charles Harris and Okwara as your starting ends, but DPJ… woo.
Yeah, we can chock up an L for Brad for once
Wow a 4th string receiver. That’ll help us get pressure on the qb for sure!
Bunch of weirdos criticizing the best GM of our lifetimes. Ye of little faith. Let Brad cook. Remember when we got Everson Griffen for a 6th and he didn’t do anything? These deadline additions aren’t making it breaking our season
The stars are aligning to potentially be the top seed in the nfc and the response is basically indicating that they’re happy with just winning the division. Disappointing
So tired of people acting like Brad is infallible because he’s a good drafter.
Yeah, the team looks good. And yes, not trying to strengthen our defense when the north is *this* weak is stupid. Pretty much just surrendering the season while every other NFC contender improved.
I knew no big trades were happening it’s not how Brad is building the team. It’s not about just this year he wants to build for the long haul
Keep in mind that with how successful Holmes has been in drafting, there’s a pretty good chance that multiple draft picks next year won’t even make the team. Makes it even more incredulous that Holmes didn’t at least TRY to get Chase Young.
I don’t understand how u can look at davante cook cam sutton all game and not even think about trading for a corner only reason davante didn’t have a big game is because jimmy g sucks🤦🏾♂️
My god this fan base listens to waaaaay too much 97.1.
Chill the fuck out, defense is good the offense is good, potentially great now.
Pretty neutral on this. Think it was a pragmatic pick up. With Marvin Jones suddenly out, it’s justified.
This feels like the snickers bar in the glove compartment. You’ll be glad it’s there if something happens, but it probably won’t save your life.
Always next year since 1957.
What makes things worse is Dan just said that they think James Houston will be back this season…I thought he would be back after the bye week. Really yanked our chain saying it would be 6-8 weeks.
We’re 6-2, have a good lead in the NFC North. Have great team chemistry right now, and are mountains ahead of where we’ve ever been as a franchise especially in the recent future. Y’all need to chill. When you Brad Holmes critics gonna learn?
Anyone not upset with this deadline is coping.
Can someone confirm Brad Holmes is actually cooking and not in fact asleep?
This was not, and never was, a SB or bust year. No need to trade away valuable draft assets for a half season rental. A 6th for a veteran WR that can contribute immediately and not take two years to develop? That’s a fine trade.
Wow everyone is so mad about not making a splash move. Team is and will be good. Brad covets early draft picks. We are building for the long haul so let’s all relax.
I don’t understand why everyone is freaking out. Do you not think that if a logical option for DE or CB was available they wouldn’t have taken it. Brad has built us a hell of a roster and we are now 6-2 going into the bye. He didn’t do it but panic dumping massive amounts of our salary cap on individual players. They have to manage the future of the team and make sure we can maintain guys like Saint and Hutch. Everybody calm down, we are in the drivers seat this season for a reason.
This team will not go far this year and we will loose both our next game and the game against the cowboys.
Trash trade, we need defense of players, wtf was he thinking
Seeing the Chase Young trade just pisses me off
Go Blue!
Depth at CB would have made me feel better but if we know the need at CB I am sure the front office knows about it too and has a couple of things in plan. Just gotta trust 🙏
Everyone is taking crazy pills.
How have we built this winning team in Detroit? Through our GM being a fucking wizard in the draft and then getting a mix of vets on short term deals with flexibility.
Whoever thought we were going to sell the farm for someone like Crosby or Surtain was straight up smoking crack.
Chase Young and Sweat are good players but the former has a major injury rap sheet and both need to be paid.
I don’t know about you guys but I sure as shit do not want to trade away premium draft capital. I want the best drafter in the league to have as many picks at his disposal as possible to find more LaPortas, Branches, Campbells, McNeils, St. Browns, etc…
We are a year early in my opinion, and if we stay the course we can build a real contender here for years to come.
Plus, let’s take care of OUR GUYS. You sign someone like Chase Young to a long term deal and it’s going to cost you one or more of our guys signing a long term deal in the future.
Trust in Brad. The man has not let us down yet. Panic going all in on a mid tier vet and inking them to a long term deal causing us to lose one of our homegrown talents is such an SOL move.
Oi. Another edge rusher really would’ve helped this team. Getting that extra pressure without having to blitz all the time would’ve been huge.
I get Marvin Jones left, and I don’t hate this pickup, but if you’re gonna get one guy, why not get a guy who’ll be more of an impact? DPJ is probably gonna be the than the #4 receiving option at the highest. And what does this mean for Jamo? Is his role now reduced?
Hey whatever, this isn’t SB or Bust at year 3 Holmes/Campbell era. I don’t want to be the Eagles or Rams, win a SB and suck for another 10 years. I want be dominant for the next 10-20 years like the Patriots and the Chiefs. I’ve waited 25 years for the Lions to even be were they’re at, I can wait a little longer. At this point SB will be a bonus if we make it this year.
What the hell is up with this narrative that making a trade to improve the team (a third round pick) is “Superbowl or Bust” or “Selling off the teams future”
You guys are coping so hard for a GM who’s team hasn’t even made the playoffs yet let alone done anything substantial.
We lost guys we loved and that contributed. Now it’s just okay? We clearly have some gaps and it’s just “trust Brad Holmes?” Because we beat the Raiders?
DPJ is fine. It’s more of a comment on where they think Jamo is than anything else.
The next draft class is going to be stacked. Why lose picks for the short term instead?

Ugh, if this is all we do that’s an L for Brad.
Dont need another WR
