Quantrill stepped up after he came back from the IL in September. I’d hate to see him go if he’s gonna keep pitching like he did. But this past seasons pre-IL Quantrill could move and I would be A OK with it.
Wouldn’t be the biggest loss with the pitching talent we have.
Cal’s presence is really undervalued. He’s 28 years old and less than 10 years away from being a MLB pitching coach and less than 15 years from being a manager IMO.
I bet we trade him for a SS and a arm
Whose the fifth starter assuming it’s Bieber, McKenzie, Bibee, and Williams?
Honestly, i thought the young guys like Civ, Plesac, Biebs, and Quantrill were going to be that next generation of Kluber, Cookie, Bauer, and Clevinger that take us to the promised land. We managed to trade those guys at the right time, but I think the cleveland front office should stay *ahead of the curve* and trade Quantrill and Bieber so we can continue the success this team has had for the last 10+ years. Quantrill *should* give us a decent return. He’s a super underrated pitcher. Solid innings eater, keeps us in ballgames almost 90% of the time, and his demeanor off the field is superb. He’s a clubhouse leader. I’d hate to see him go, but unfortunately in Cleveland, we got to keep the prospect machine turning. We can afford to trade him OR bieber, probably not both. If his return will be better than Bieber’s, pull the trigger, and let Bieber play out his contract with us. Players tend to kill it in their contract years.
