Drafting sixth while the Guardians get the first pick… can’t make this shit up
Last place in our division, 2nd worst team in baseball and 2 teams that finished better than us get a higher pick
All I wanted was for my beautiful beaver boy Bazzana in a royals uniform I’m sick of this fucking lottery shit man
Clearly rigging this shit to stop teams from tanking
We should have rigged the lottery like a NBA team
The MLB draft lottery is genuinely one of the dumbest things they’ve come up with, which is really saying something
Just completely disheartening as a die hard fan
Go figure! The third place finisher in our division with the first pick.
And we still don’t even get a top 5 pick..
I’m about to go make the 35 minute drive to Opryland to find the ping pong ball operator, I just wanna talk
We would completely fuck up the first overall pick anyways so what does it even matter?
Royals the only team to pick significantly worse than their odds, 9th gets 1, 13th gets 2 and we get jumped by 2 division rivals. I used to think the lottery was how all sports drafts should go, to get rid of tanking incentive but this is worse than the terrible NBA lottery

The Wetherholt/Bazzana x BWJ middle infield dream was short lived
Classic royals. The royals got screwed by the draft lottery 2 years in a row and to add insult to injury 2 divisional rivals with a better records gets the better pick just like last year. Remember that small market teams aren’t allowed pick in draft lottery more than 3 years in a row. Fuck the draft lottery.

They’re not picking anyone worth a damn anyway, and we all know it. They care more about internet browsing history than the ability to play the game of baseball.

If there’s a bleaker outlook for a team in American professional sports I’d love to see it, at least the goddamn A’s are gonna start spending money when they get to Vegas.

In the best case scenario the Royals could have drafted very well in ’23 & ’24 and traded those players for young SP to help out Bobby & Vinnie.
The smartest move would be to trade Bobby now (he won’t get much higher value than this) and find the core of players that you build around far far ahead into the future.
