3 out of the 4 teams in the tournament have black city jerseys. Why are the Lakers the only ones not allowed to wear em?

  1. Because Indiana is going against a team that doesn’t have it.

The question should be why are the pelicans allowed to have it over the lakers and I guess it’s just the way it is.

  2. Lakers are the only home team Thursday. The others wont wear their black jerseys unless they meet in the finals. If that happens, the home team will likely not be allowed to wear their black jersey.

  3. Because the lakers are the most iconic franchise in the NBA it’s the in season tournament so why not make the most iconic team where their jersey that everyone knows and they will tune in to watch it

  4. I thought the reason we couldn’t wear them was a lack of contrast with the court? In which case I assume no one is wearing black?

  5. Nike decides what jerseys are worn when solely by whatever they think will get more to sell.

  6. It’s all about exposure.

The NBA wants the Lakers in it’s legendary purple and gold for the inevitable media spam during and after the finals. The average Joe might not recognize Lebron James in an all black jersey but will likely be able to put two and two together if he is wearing our iconic colours.

  7. A bunch of yall are just making up shit in this topic including the OP. Did anyone read the Mcmenamen article?

Lakers told by the league they can’t wear black who will wear the gold uniforms . Neither can the pelicans who will wear their white uniforms.

  8. It would be funny to see Lakers vs Pacers given how into it the teams were last offseason😂. Giving the last picks for Buddy Hield and Myles Turner. Solid players but not worth the price imo
