  1. Honestly not surprised at all because I was expecting this one, but those contract numbers are still shocking to see in writing lol. Damn.

  2. Yikes. I hope this cripples the dodgers franchise. 70 million a year seems excessive for a guy that may never pitch up to par again lol

  3. Good. Dodgers are shooting them selves in the foot with this. Never gonna return to that caliber of player.

  4. Holy cow that’s a lot of $$. I think I told someone on here when they predicted $700M for Ohtani that they were on another planet… I sincerely apologize for my ignorance. That’s insane

  5. At least it’s a gigantic commitment and may cripple them in the latter half of the contract? Right?… Right?… ugh

  6. I’m on the train of, I knew we weren’t getting him, but now we get to see him play in SD on occassion

  7. On one hand it’s gonna suck having to face him in the beginning of his contract.

On the other hand, that’s a shit load of money that hopefully the Dodgers are gonna regret giving out as time passes

  8. Absolutely insane. The guy is on Tommy John surgery number 2. Of course, the marketing dollars alone probably pay for this but wow.

  9. 700 mil over 10 is absurd. We’ll see how it pans out but even for Othani feels like an overpay

  10. Honestly, that’s fucking nuts. I’m sorry Shohei, but I hope you don’t come close to meeting those expectations.

  11. I loved you Shohei but now you’re a Dodger and there ain’t no Dodger loving in this household. Also, last I checked only one team has a Platinum Glove Award winner playing RF and he’s gonna be HITTING BOMBS OFF YOU FOR THE NEXT DECADE BABY. LFGSD!!!!

  12. 1,227,000,000 for Ohtani, Betts, Freeman

    970,000,000 for Tati, Manny, Bogey

Shit man, it’s pretty close. I’d feel a lot better if we were at like 1,100,000,000 with Soto over Bogey

  13. That farm system better be *real* damn deep for the next 10 years to survive a contract like that. He’s absolutely 100% untradeable if his pitching arm is dead after the second TJ surgery.
