Update: Haase’s deal is a split contract. He would still have to clear waivers if sent to the minors since he’s out of options, but would then earn at the minor-league rate of his contract. Haase is still expected to be the front runner for the backup catcher job. [via Curt Hogg]

Still holding out hope for Meijia. 100x the hitter this guy is with the same glove at likely the same cost.
