The 49ers are really pushing this holding thing before the Superbowl….now the owner is in on it.

  1. Questioning the refs before the game even starts. Bold move cotton let’s see how it plays out for them.

  2. I think they messed up on this one, they’ll probably end calling holds on the 49ers all game, dumb move and I’m going to have to hear them whine about it when they lose

  3. Do they remember any of the other penalties that game that didn’t get called? Or just the ones they *believe* happened against the 49ers?

    Little babies.

  4. 31-20

They can’t rewrite history by complaining. We have the Lombardi and they don’t.

  5. I don’t think they are making excuses. They are setting the narrative, and planting a seed. It’s smart on their part. This may make the refs more inclined to pay attention. It happened when attention was brought on the false starts and not being lined up correctly. Wouldn’t be surprised if this narrative takes off with the sports talking heads in the media, that we get a bunch of holding calls.

  6. I mean pointing out Jawaan Taylor’s “false starts” led to hyper scrutiny by the refs all season. Maybe they are playing it from that angle.

  7. This is a decent tactic actually. Refs aren’t sequestered and they will see/hear this stuff. Even if it means just one play where they are watching a bit closer and make a call, that could be the difference. This is calculated by their entire org. Especially cause the refs can look and see the Chiefs have the most holding calls in the league and it reinforces what the 49ers are saying. And then it gives them a built in excuse if they lose.

That said, the fact that they are spending time on this makes me think they are a bit scared. This is a bit more than “looking for an edge”. Can’t imagine it’s a good mindset to already be talking about holding calls for a game that hasn’t been played yet.

  8. Literally just posted this the other day and y’all took it down lmao. Their fan base already complaining about the refs more than a week before the game is crazy

  9. It’s almost like officiating is incredibly inconsistent across the league – people take notice when it’s the best team

  10. Remember when the forty whiners gave up 21 points in 10 minutes and then spent 4 years complaining about the refs?

  11. 4DYners culture runs so deep, they’re probably already crying about the reffing for next year’s games

  12. We have the most penalized player in the league and people will still complain that they never throw any flags on us. They hate us cause they ain’t us.

  13. #GET LOUDER NINERS!!

We’re just gonna quietly sit back here and assemble the bulletin boards for the boys.

  14. Definitely on the fence about how this will play out. It’s either going to be bad for us and they’re going to call a ticky-tacky game because of all the attention on it. OR, not unlike when they made pass interference reviewable, the refs will give those complaining the middle finger and call almost nothing……Has me a tad worried, but I’m sure Andy and the crew will be sharing this with the O-Line

  15. This, this is why I don’t like them. Making excuses before the game is even a week away? Surely this won’t come back to bite them lol. From a lions fan, please bury them I’m tired of them thinking Purdy isn’t getting carried by a team loaded with stars.

  16. Rent free.

Hope Chiefs keep their focus on the game and what they can control.

49ers are setting themselves up for another SuperBowl L with this ref talk. Jed is even worse here, bringing up a non hold from 4 years ago.

  17. There is holding on EVERY PLAY – you just can’t let it go on this one because the play was so big.

  18. There is an old saying about watching *football* that goes something like this:
You could call a *holding* penalty on every single play.

  19. Let ’em talk. Just like last year with the Eagles and all their sacks and they had how many in the SB?

Same here – we’ll have zero holds on the OL in the SB.

  20. What is up with this organization? They never used to be like this. They complained about last year for months now they’re going back 4 years? Bitches

  21. God damn is that really what our team is doing to people? Making them the whiniest, reachy turds alive?

  22. Great idea to antagonize the refs before the game even happens.

If they want to play a game where the Olines are held to a strict standard, that benefits our very mobile quarterback more than their pocket passer. What are you thinking?

  23. no matter what happens at the big game, people will complain about refs and how it is rigged.
