Anyone else pleasantly surprised with Hatakka? Wouldn’t mind if he stuck around as a bottom six defensemen
I don’t know how people can defend Vanecek after yesterday. Yes the defense is playing better. But the poise, calmness, rebound control and actual working glove make the team play better.
Vitek is pure chaos, can’t corral pucks and puts rebounds in high danger places.
Daws is young and prone to lapses, but I’d much rather ride with him and Schmid than watch Vanecek gift the opposing team scoring chances.
Daws was solid last night, controlling rebounds, rarely out of position, and the D helped him tremendously.
One of the best games our D played all night. Although would’ve liked the shut out, our D boxed their men out on the goal, Daws had a clear look, just didn’t grab it. Hatakka has been thrown into the mix and has really stepped up lately. I think it’s taken a few weeks, but he seems to be settling in well and like his play. Doesn’t hurt to have more size and grit on the backend.
Just saw the replay of the Toffoli goal since the stadium doesn’t always have great replays. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shot get so much spin on it to bounce in like that. That was insane
I’m ur lines last night were insane. Nico Bratt and palat continued their past few games of great play, that haula jack toffoli line was insane, lazar Meier and Mercer played really well and for the first time in a while Meier looked dangerous, and the fourth line played solid other than giving up the goal which could have been prevented ultimately. This might be our best lines in terms of having offensive quality on all 4 while not having multiple lines that are leaking goals
