The longest active playoff streaks

  1. not judging i just think its funny the bruins flare swapped the bruins with the leafs from the original post

  2. I dislike the notion that teams who lost in the qualifying round of 2020 still count as “made the playoffs.” Regardless of what the NHL denotes, your streak shouldn’t be intact.

  3. The play-in round should not count as playoffs. If you didn’t make the Final 16, you didn’t make the playoffs.

  4. Obviously, I’m biased here, but it just goes to show how incredible the Wings streak truly was. The Bruins and Leafs are currently the two closest to catching that record… 18 years from now.

  5. I’m really surprised that it’s only 7 years as the max. The parity in the NHL is pretty amazing.

  6. 2020 – Toronto Maple Leafs never made the playoffs.

They lost in the qualifying round. That means they never qualified for the playoffs.

  7. It crazy that the Bruins missed the playoff two years in a row (coming in 9th in the conference both times) in 14/15 & 15-/6 with 96 & 93 points those years.

The last time they missed the payoffs before then was 06/07.

  8. Kinda wild that the active record is only 7 years..

Feels like yesterday Detroit had 25 straight!
