  1. I can understand why college programs are producing elite defensemen. You have to have an above average IQ to get into those programs. These player are also in programs of more prestigious schools, and you have to be even smarter to get into those schools. Being players with above average IQs being defensemen is very fitting. They have to have the ability to read plays and know when and where to be on the ice in any given circumstance. They’re able to read the ice at a higher level and are able to capitalize more often on their chances.

  2. The quality of play in the US college system has been getting better and better. In addition to that, its mostly 19-23 year olds vs the Canadian Juniors who are 16-20. Having to play against fully frown men better prepares one for the NHL.

  3. The NCAA is finally a legitimate farm league for the NHL. It’s really exciting to see

  4. No guarantee he’ll be as good as them, but it’s going to be a damn fun ride to watch! Hopefully he will be great.

  6. Devon Toews, 67 points in 108 games. Not quite as impressive but another success story.

  7. The chl will have a few high end dmen coming up like Dupont but the ncaa is killing it.
