so there was no point guard that you were bringing in for the mle that would have been a better option than Bradley Beal basically just picture this year’s team but without Bradley Beal yeah and think about how bad that team might have been like I I don’t understand the frustration with this TR I understand it’s a bad contract moving forward maybe I think that’s what it is m next on the list traded Chris Paul Andrew shamut first round pick swaps and six second round picks Bradley beeld and Jordan Goodwin this is the one that everybody has problems with this is this kind of feels like the turning point when everyone is going to retroactively looked at like ah new owner syndrome M ispia ruined the Suns that’s still a move that you make like I’m sorry I I love Chris Paul I loved what he did you and I have argued about whether he deserves to be in the Ring of Honor multiple times he does but like Chris Paul what was our complaint about him last season couldn’t stay healthy in the playoffs it was it was time like it was time to move on from Chris Paul and Landry shamut Lord knows nobody liked him here in Phoenix and that he couldn’t contribute so like you’re TWA trading a bunch of pick swaps for a certified All-Star a guy who can come in and be that third option after being the first or second option in Washington for years and again because of their limmit ations based on the luxury tax where they were with those aprons they couldn’t have brought in anybody better they could have gotten to the mid-level exception but if you look at the players that were signed for that amount Last Summer the best one was like Gabe Vincent who guess what missed most of the Season due to injury so there was no point guard that you were bringing in for the mle that would have been a better option than Bradley Beal basically just picture this year’s team but without Bradley Beal yeah and think about how bad that team might have been like I I don’t understand the frustration with this TR I understand it’s a bad contract moving forward maybe I think that’s what it is but you don’t make trades based on what a contract’s going to look like three years from now you take it into account but you make a trade to go all in on your title window now that’s what that trade is yeah and I’m sorry I’m not going to sit here with 2020 hindsight just because year one didn’t work out and be like no that was the wrong move that’s the thing G you got to give it more time there’s no way the verdict is out on Brad bill yet it’s been one year uh if you think in my opinion if you think the Kevin Durant trade was a no-brainer the Brad Bill trade was a no-brainer on steroids like you had to make that deal I think it’s a fantastic deal I still think it’s a fantastic de based on the circumstances that g just laid out what you could have done and what your options were to come away with Brad bill was an absolute home run now year one it didn’t work out but that’s year one I’m going to least some people down the road real quick year one of Rudy goar looked really bad too year one I mean everybody was saying that’s the worst trade in NBA history they’re never going to live that down they gave up so many first round picks and then year two year two looked a lot better so and then they’re going to lose to my nuggets now so yeah okay okay here’s the thing like I understand the limitations you were around as far as cap space and money and that you traded Chris Paul Landry and a couple second rounders more than a couple six of them let’s be honest um for an All-Star Bradley Beal I understand that but I do think that I’m not saying you don’t make the move but I understand people’s dislike for the move because of the no trade clause because it gives you zero flexibility around Bradley Beal until the end of his entire contract that I do think gives people reservation but fans fans have the ability to play Captain hindsight and play back think people were discussing that at the time of the trade as well some of them yes not all of the people in the chat that think this is a stupid move right now I can promise you that and I can also promise you again if they hadn’t made a trade for Bradley Beal and they just ran it back with Chris Paul and you in a worse spot this season would have gone 10 times worse than it did so and not only that I’m sorry not only that g Not only would it have gone 10 times worse you you’ll be you what options would you have like literally you got Brad Bal for Chris Paul you got to remember Chris Paul you can only that was the only opportunity to trade Chris Paul and his money if you don’t do that how are you even getting a brad bill or someone else I the people in the chat that upset I want to know what the alternative is if you’re G to be upset right tell me what the alternative is to flip Chris Paul and Landry shamet and and get something back um I I just don’t see it I think that’s just keep Chris Paul moving to the bench well for who and who are they getting book plays Point like he did this year okay yeah I don’t think that because they love Point book in the chat look to to me this was like trading an old paid-off beater car that had uh overpriced rims and a and a nice stereo in it for a used luxury car uh you know that that you thought okay it’s it it’s better than what I have right now

NO ONE ELSE was taking that Shamet contract off of us. The rest of the league was willing to let us hang on that bad CP3 contract, as well. To quote Jack Nicholson, that was as good as it gets.

I think the biggest qualm I have is that we can't trade him for other assets that would benefit the team in ways that we desperately need. Considering his skillset is not different than booker
