field line Garrett Cooper drives home his 10th run the red socks cash in a walk and a pass ball and this is what the Boston team’s been looking for this entire series with four strike outs he sent down all eight cardinal hitters and right now Nick pavetta is the man in St Louis and pavetta is perfect through three five strikeouts it’s all working for the Red Sox right-handed and the man that oversees the pitching program for the Red Sox is Andrew Bailey their pitching coach who’s kind enough to join us hey thanks guys appreciate you having me on here today man we have a lot of talent in that room uh especially in the rotation and obviously in the bullpen as well I think it’s just kind of working with our different departments understanding you know how the pitchers move uh you know anatomically and and having conversations with them to to understand what they’re trying to do what problems they’re trying to solve um the understanding how their body naturally unwinds to generate Force into the baseball uh to create the spin that we need to um you know achieve certain movement profiles lior has his sign the pitch and it’s grounded inside the third base bag and arado has it off hang up and a great catch Durant makes a sliding grab and Peta loves that man this Red Sox Outfield can cover some ground he took away a hit back to back walks for Roy Croft and he’s playing with fire here with Wong coming up they threaten again here as that one’s chopped off the plate tough play ronado Scoops and fires and it’s going to be an infield hit the Red Sox have a chance to blow this game open they’ve got the bases loaded here in the fifth inning there’s nobody out will Brau is going to grab a bat and he’ll pinch it for Garrett Cooper so Alex cor is taking his shot here to maybe put this game Out Of Reach in the fifth inning and a little number that’s slowly hit Roy Croft and Goldie can’t communicate no place to flip the ball and a run is in so an uncharacteristically sloppy defensive game for the Cardinals and the Red Sox are taking big time Advantage it’s 5 to one and still nobody Out Swinging a line drive in his left field that is sinking and it is down for a hit record with a homer in his fifth consecutive game for the Red Sox his hitting streak will be extended to nine games and Boston is rolling to a 91 lead huge story for the Boston Red Sox this year their starters erra entering today’s play is an unbelievable 2.73 as Matt Carpenter pops one up left side de gets a little help and it’s shortstop raphaela comes over well six innings in the book for pavetta that might be it for him and he did a marvelous job just one hit and after six 9-1 Red Sox and they have taken Peta down after just 72 pitches and look you can save some bullets for PETA today with an eight-run lead towering flyball in high in the air toward left ref Snider battling the sun onto the warning track he can’t make the catch and goldi will stop at second ah the sun’s been up second run that’s his 100th career RBI a cardinal as the one strike pitches in the dirt it gets past the catcher and a Run’s going to score and the Cardinals get a little bit closer it’s now 9 to three and that’ll retire the side unlucky for weisser but in the end he limits the damage two down for Paul goldshmid there’s a bullet great play raphaela and a cannon to First what a play at Short raphaela brilliant defense ranging into the hole and a nice pick on the back end from Smith three and two to Hamilton shot deep into right field its way back and it is gone David Hamilton his monster weekend in St Louis continues but it doesn’t matter who hits in the fourth spot for Boston they are redot Hamilton’s just hit a line drive home run that one on the ground served to right long with another hit Abu with a two- on count smokes that into right center field that’s down for a hit long will cut the bag at second he’s on his way to third Abu will stand in with a double and the Red Sox are not taking the foot off the accelerator pedal that one on the ground great play by gold Schmid flipped to First is in time that’s going to score a run though and the Red Sox add to their lead it’s 11- three and the final hope for St Louis is Brendan Donovan the two two is a swing in a Miss Martin strikes out the side this was an impressive win for the Red Sox they avoid a sweep
