Riley and Derek start off the show by discussing the recent Matvei Michkov rumors (2:31). They go on to discuss some coaching movement league wide including Craig Berube heading to the Toronto Maple Leafs (6:41), Sheldon Keefe joining the New Jersey Devils (11:23), Jim Hiller having his interim tag removed an officially becoming head coach of the Los Angeles Kings (12:22), and Rod Brind’Amour receiving an extension with the Carolina Hurricanes (13:01). They shift to Ryan McDonagh traded back to the Tampa Bay Lightning and what that could mean for Steven Stamkos (14:45), the OHL suspending Landon Sim of the London Knights (18:55), and Rick Tocchet winning the Jack Adams trophy for coach of the year (25:22).
They move on to the Stanley Cup Playoffs (26:30) starting with the New York Rangers eliminating the Carolina Hurricanes, and the Florida Panthers eliminating the Boston Bruins (28:18). Heading on to the Eastern Conference finals (29:24) they preview the Rangers vs Panthers series. Out West Riley and Derek discuss Edmonton eliminating Vancouver (34:15), and give their thoughts on the upcoming Oilers vs Stars series (36:22). They move on to a couple picks for Friday night’s game, and answer fan submitted questions!
