How Good Are The 2024 Cleveland Guardians?
since you mentioned class to kind of transition away from Allstar talk I just want to discuss the Guardians I just got a chance to watch a series Guardians Mets that team is special that Guardians team takes advantage of every opportunity they get that Guardians team has an unbelievable Bullpen and Emanuel class how often do you see a closer get saves three games in a row he did that first two games against the Mets in this series and the final one in their prior series The Guardians are legit and I think as good as the Royals are it’s going to be hard for them to maintain Pace with the Guardians this year and you’ve got a first time manager but that first time manager Stephen vote and you say oh okay I think that that makes sense and you’ve got a team that previously was managed by a Hall of Fame manager he will be there Terry Frank hona and just an entire organization that I think you know we we’ve talked many times about the Cardinal Way and different teams the Yankee Way in various sorts right of of how you you hold yourself and and you you deal with the media things of that nature but the Guardians way is very much a thing the way they they’re able to draft develop players take advantage of of situations I mean Emanuel class came over for uh Corey clubber right they they were basically dumping a contract to Texas and they said oh yeah we we’ll take this really young flamethrower and you know and and I think emanel CL is the best closer in baseball right now what is he 26 years old so I mean the dude dude’s absolutely fantastic so yeah Cleveland really special they’re they’re always that team where despite the fact you might not know who’s on their roster they’re gonna plug someone in they are going to find a spot David fry is one of those names you go who who is that exactly I honestly didn’t know before this week uh but I learned right uh Kyle manzardo was a player that came over from Tampa last year in the Aaron svali trade so they’re they an amazing job around the edges and from top to bottom in that organization they they are to be believed in and with Steven vote at the helm yeah the Cleveland Guardians are are special class like you said and you know what also I caught on to as well is Jose Ramirez is is right there in the the Kyle Tucker class of underappreciated Superstars and he’s a guy that is a real Dark Horse this year to win the MVP I think ultimately one of those Yankees is going to get it because they’re the Yankees and they’re off to a great start and they’re probably going win 100 plus games and they might win that Division and they might get all the attention but if you want to talk about most valuable you remove Jose Ramirez from the Cleveland Guardians they are not this good they need that guy in the middle of their lineup making it all happen and he’s driving in a ton of runs coming up with every clutch hit playing great defense at their base Jose Ramirez a guy that I don’t think he has won one yet has he he’s always kind of in the mix but has Jose Ramirez won an MVP no he never has I I want to even say the highest he’s probably ever finished in MVP voting would have been third yeah maybe was there two in there but I would probably guess three would be the closest no he did have a second place finish in uh in 2020 two third place finishes a fourth a sixth and then last year 10th so he’s always there as uh as that lynchpin you know for the for the Cleveland Guardians because other than him I think the next two biggest names if you will in that lineup are Josh Naylor people are starting to find out about him a little bit more and Andreas Jimenez who you know two guys that are are 26 and 25 years old respectively both coming over in in trades where Cleveland had to be smart Josh Naylor coming over in something like a 10-player deal right when Mike clevinger was uh was the lynchpin there going to San Diego and Cleveland gets a bunch of guys back and Andre Jimenez one of the last pieces left over from the Francisco Lindor deal so that’s how they’re they’re able to sustain this but it’s it’s almost with discarded pieces other than Jose Ramirez almost all of them are discarded pieces that are just really playing up in in that system pretty crazy to hit on that many trades you know a lot of these teams they got to do it from developing and then not that they haven’t developed they developed some pitching but man when you kind of go through the names that are making that lineup work it it’s it’s nuts and I also gotta say I have a piece coming out here soon um at just baseball about the best value signings uh of this off season Ben Lively a guy that they picked up off the scrap Heap who is pitching to a low three Z it’s been great for them since Shane Bieber went down so they’re doing a lot right there in Cleveland
The Cleveland Guardians have risen to the top of the A.L. Central and are one of the best teams in baseball so far this season.
How have they been able to accomplish such success so far?
Hosts Ryan Finkelstein and Patrick Lyons discuss the factors that have made the Guardians one of the league’s best teams in 2024.

Go Tribe !
Forgot about probably their best overall player. Steven Kwan. Led the MLB in BA and hits when he got hurt. Also is a gold glove left fielder. Easily the best leadoff hitter in the American League. He will be back next week. Their top 4 is amazing. Steven Kwan, Andres Gimenez, Jose Ramirez and Josh Naylor. Jose and Naylor have hit almost 30 Hr and have 90 RBi between them already. They are currently 36-17. Percentage points ahead of the Yankees for best record in the AL. Also they should be getting their top pitcher back. Other than Beiber in Gavin Williams. He’s a Gerrit Cole clone. 6’5 240. Throws 98. He’s a stud. He should be back in the rotation very soon.
Let's hold on there. Even though i have been a long-time Indians/Guardians fan since 1995….
let's wait on calling the Guardians legit.
There's still lot of baseball to be played in 2024. Lot's of things could happen between now May 26th and the last game of the season on September 29th. 🤔😐
Actually, there are other great hitters that Cleveland has: Steven Kwan (currently on the IL), Andres Gimenez, Josh Naylor, David Fry and occasionally, Will Brennan, Brayan Rocchio and Tyler Freeman will have good at-bats.
The only weak spots in the Guardians line-up are the catchers: Bo Naylor and Austin Hedges.
They develop players better than any other organization in the league in my opinion. For decades now they have done this, very consistently.
Cleveland fucks
Appreciate the overview and respect you gave. ❤ (Guardians fan)
I just looked at all team stats Guardians vs the Angels…Angel's 11 games under 500..we were 15 games over 500. Angels were better in every team category except 2. One of those 2 was team era. The power of pitching .. stats.. on display
Let’s go Cleveland!!!! Everywhere you are!!! Let’s do this!!! They need us now!!! Believe with us all!!!!
GO TRIBE!!!!!
I am half Cheyenne and my mother grew up on a reservation, her family always cheered for the Indians, we will never cheer for the woke joke in Cleveland. Being called an Indian is something to proud of not ashamed of.
