Bryan Reynolds Hits 440-Foot HR in Win | Pirates vs. Blue Jays Highlights (6/1/24)

it’s a great day for baseball from Toronto’s Rogers Center this afternoon it’s the Pirates and the Toronto Blue Jays here in game two of this three-game weekend series Mitch Keller going for the Pirates you say kuchi going for the Blue Jays you say the team is not won in his last six starts they haven’t scored any runs for him but he’s not pitched as well as he did early in the season still has a good erra at 325 averaging n strikeouts per nine innings and he’s always about command and when he commands his fast ball that sets up his second and third pitches very effectively wow four pitch walk and so McCutchen starts the ball game aboard Reynolds now looking to snap out of an 0 for 13 hitless drought and he’s caught looking frustrations continue for Reynolds Ming at first on a walk and one out for Connor Joe oers last night this is a line drive bullet into the left field Corner McCutchen will go to third on the double by Connor Joe and now they’re in business second and third with one out two on in scoring position for Olivares should be deep enough but Springer’s got decent arm and he’s not even going to test it so McCutchen will score and the Pirates do take a one- nothing lead and now ke Brian Hayes Pirates leading one- nothing going to fly ball to left going back is Schneider to the wall clear the deck canon ball coming for key Brian Hayes a laser over the left center field wall his second home run of the season and it’s three nothing in the first boy that’s a big swing from ke Brian Hayes Pirates staking Mitch Keller to a three nothing lead yeah that’s nice you our starting pitchers unfortunately have not had enough of these outings to where they’re out there with a you know two or three run lead or more but Mitch who’s been excellent uh couldn’t ask for a better month of May 4-0 with a 130 ER and good to see Dalton varo back in the lineup again have dealt with a am of food poisoning and uh everybody has been there the odd times and a good thing he is to deep right field and it’s off the wall it bounces away from olivaris varo is into third with a stand up triple it’s a one out triple for Dalton varo and the Blue Jays have a runner in scoring position in the bottom of the first down three nothing bottom of the first V on third infield back with one out way outside ball four and the Blue Jays now have Runners on the corners with just one out a ground ball could be a much different situation here than it was with just a runner a third obviously yeah but you still got to think about getting the ball in the air B bashit right now swinging a Miss struck him out that’s a big strike out for Mitch after walking Guerrero leave that Runner there at third base so two down and it’s going to be up to Daniel vogle back swinging a Miss struck him out and the ker gets out of trouble the Blue Jays leave two in scoring position against Keller Mitch Keller gets a couple of big KS three nothing Pirates two outs nobody on bottom of the third Pirates up three nothing he’s gone five or more innings in 42 consecutive starts that is the longest active streak in the major league shoots this one to right and that’s going to be off the wall and that will be a long single as olivarez smartly kind of attracted when it bounced off the wall right back to him I don’t know if he did that intentionally or the ball just found his and here is Bo bashet nice play Conor Joe for the final out one hit one left for Toronto through three from Rogers Center Full Count on the Blue Jays leadoff man in the fourth inning Keller’s 3-2 swinging a Miss struck him out waving at a high fast ball at 9 three number five for Keller Springer a Fly ball toward the right field corner and olivaris makes the catch in foul ground and very little territory there that was a nice play by Eddie o that ball kept slicing into foul ground two outs swing and a foul tip struck him out an 11 pitch strikeout for Mitch Keller his first one two three inning today will go to the fifth in Toronto pirates on top three nothing here’s Michael a Taylor with a man at second nobody out and gets that bunt down to third H fppa what happened there viio takes that throw with he lost his balance sacrifice goes 5 to four moving triolo up to third with one out Pirates lead three nothing in the fifth the infield is up Andrew McCutchen bats and Andrew McCutchen picks up another RBI off the glove of Bo bashet the drawn an infield gives the Pirates a 4 nothing lead bucko playing small ball this inning there he’s Brian Reynolds and that’s a solid rip into center field for Brian Reynolds back-to- back bucks hits put two on for Conor Joe here with one out in the fifth and he’s got a base hit McCutchen will score and heading to third Reynolds Conor Joe headed to Second and he’s going to be out give him a single in an RBI second out of this fifth inning Pates leaded five to nothing so another run in Reynolds is at third with two down and here’s Edward olivarez to right field not hit deep and a diving catch made by George Springer beautiful play George Springer gets Kikuchi out of the top of the fif and now he’s trying to give Shelton and these Pirates six Innings have to be very efficient you can see that pitch count creeping up got him another strike out eight for Mitch Keller he’s just overpowering them he’s throwing darts up there one out man on for bashet oh off of Keller let’s hope that’s just off his glove let’s see it just got his glove just the pinky of his glove he’s telling everybody he’s fine say he’s okay doesn’t even want to throw a warm-up man at second two outs the Blue Jays yesterday were two for 19 with runners in scoring position off the end of the bat and that’s going to drop in for a base hit and the Blue Jays are on the board it’s 6 to one top of the eighth inning in downtown Toronto Brampton Zone Zack pop on the mound for the Blue Jays and again of the Pirates lead 6 to one little Looper shallow right and Oh my he made another catch he’s having quite a run out there he really is he looks like a youngster out there running around flopping all over the place what a play George Springer sunglasses on his hat he Dives forward and takes a hit away from Nick Gonzalez second diving catch coming in for Springer six to1 Pirates two outs McCutchen on it first first fly ball hit deep to center field to the wall and clear the deck oh what a bomb from Reynolds anchor down that’s number eight crushed it and the Pirates have eight on the board we’ve seen some angry swings today from Brian Reynolds he’s went through a little bit of a slow streak here in the last week Luis Ortiz going for his first major league save and now Isaiah Conor FFA hard to WR Conor Joe over and Rays the Jolly Roger give Luis Ortiz his first career Big League save give Mitch Keller his seventh win and the Pirates defeat the Blue Jays with an 8-1 resounding Victory these Pirates turn around today after that tough loss last night we have that Bullpen fully loaded tomorrow for the rubber match of this three game series here in Toronto
