there was a guy in the front row after the game literally balling overcome by joy that his team is made to The Cup Final and that right there is why I can’t help but be happy for oil country right now you guys have heard me say this so many times over the years on the channel but that City loves their hockey and loves their team so so much they eat sleep breathe it over there and for someone who watched the entire decade of Darkness unfold pretty much beat by beat going back to like Pronger leaving Edmonton what a moment I mean I wonder what it’s like in Edmonton I mean a lot of you guys can probably attest to it but I bet every second car has an Oiler car flag on it that whole city must be like completely engulfed by the Oilers right now and to win the game at Rogers and Edmonton 2 probably made it extra special McDavid and Dr side will finally get to a cup final after 9 10 years and of course it’s against Matthew kachuck that’s going to be absolute Cinema but good for Connor man he came out had that incredible goal to start the game get everybody even rowdier than they already were that really set the tone and it was basically poetic that he’s the one who stepped up there even on the second goal with the pass to Hyman and from there like you look at the final shot totals they really tried to just lock it down completely Dallas came very close on multiple occasions and how about steuart Skinner the Edmonton born kid said at the end of last game that Newen Hopkins was his favorite player growing up apparently he was even shouting Noe at the TV when he was watching him he came up huge for this Oilers team in this one he’s a big reason why we’re not going to a seventh game in Dallas here and in case you’re wondering no the Oilers did not touch the Clarence Campbell Bowl aka the Western Conference Champion trophy following suit from the Florida Panthers not touching the Eastern Conference one yesterday after touching it last year they don’t want to take any chances there’s some Superstition there speaking of which how about Conor mcdavis wearing the same suit for three games in a row for good luck this team wants it bad they don’t want to do anything to rock the bad luck boat and hey you certainly can’t argue with the results lately in all seriousness though man this has been fun to watch and hey Oiler fans it’s kind of wild that the last time you were in a cup final you had Sean horoff Ryan Smith Jason Smith Chris Pronger and now you’ve got Conor McDavid Leon dry cidal and Ryan nen Hopkins leading the team totally different style of players it’s a cool contrast although I will say Matias atol is a very’ 06 Oilers ask type player also Perry is back in the Standley Cup Final for the fourth time in the last five seasons random stat I know but you look at that it’s like wow really that many e and yes I’m aware how the last three went for him and yes it is funny he’s probably pretty glad he’s got that one in Anaheim in ‘ 07 we’re going to get a good oldfashioned rat off hey I mean Perry Kane kachuck Bennett another reason why I cannot wait for this series we got a full six days until then though so oil country go nuts tonight just don’t bite any fingers off please for real though enjoy it play lab bomba all night I wish Ben stelter could have been here to see this that would have been the ultimate awesome moment but as was evidenced by many signs like this in Roger’s place tonight he’s still in everyone’s Hearts over there and you absolutely love to see that of course I’ll be covering plenty of the Stanley Cup Final leading up to it and during it of course since we’ve got a pretty sizable break until then though let me know in the comments what more Niche aspect about this cup final would you like me to talk about here maybe it’s a particular player or storyline let me know please subscribe and like I’ll see you in the next one you’re awesome

  1. even though my canucks lost to the oilers in a valiant effort. i'm happy for mcdavid and the boys, hopefully this ridiculous cup drought for a canadian team comes to an end. also its nice that there's still some BC flavor on the oilers roster (nuge+kane).

  9. I got so nervous I couldn’t watch the last minute- I only knew they won because the whole neighbourhood erupted . Neighbours started lighting fireworks all I could hear is cars speeding down the henday everyone honking.

  24. Born and raised in Edmonton. Cheered the Cup wins as a child….. rooted them on as a young adult vs the Hurricanes…. Now I cheer on the Oilers alongside my 9 yr old son… THIS IS HOCKEY…… LFG OILERS!!!!

  25. We are too down here in Bakersfield aka Condortown where their AHL team plays I've got to see a bunch of these guys and Bakersfield is an Oil City as well.

  29. Hope the Oilers pull off the Cup for Canada, as I remember the Canadiens winning it in 1993, when I was in my teens. Redemption in 30 years would set off the country when we need it in these uncertain times. Hope Justin Trudeau dies not touch the team name, as an excuse bc of climate change.

  33. Man i had some tears in my eyes. Born and raised Edmontonian and never left, this makes me overjoyed. The last time the Oilers won the cup I was a kid. The last time we made it to the finals I was in my 20s. Im now in my 40s and I really want to see a win. Its been way too long.

  48. i'll tell you, I shed a tear, grew up watching oilers during the worst times for them, but I never left supporting them, so proud for these boys, the cups coming home
