so Heaven bushard is the most underrated star in the Stanley Cup finals and a lot of people are gonna say come on Marty Heaven Bard’s got 27 points so far in the playoffs right I get that he is a star because of what he does on the offensive side of the game but where he’s underrated is on the defensive side of the game and now well he can shut down the other team’s Top Line look at the playoffs so far first round against the LA Kings ANZ Kopitar Adrien kmy buard played against those guys and shut them down in the second round it was JT Miller and Brock besser buard and Matias eom let’s give credit to eom as well they were able to shut down the top uh you know offensive weapons of the Vancouver kxs and then in the last round yes Jason Robertson at a hattick in one game but for the better part for five out of six games Bart was able to shut down Robertson and Wyatt Johnson and be able to keep the top offensive players on the other team away from the score sheets so yeah buard when you look at his numbers five on five this year he is number one in the playoffs in goals differential 25 goals on the ice for and 11 against let me repeat that 11 against in 18 games of five on five play only 11 goals against that’s not even one per game that’s just a little over a half a game and and look there’s been some great offensive defensemen in the National Hockey League and look at Eric Carlson right can really do some magical thing offensively but Evan Bard can also defend it’s not just about outscoring his problem if he had 25 goals for and 20 against and was a plus five we’ say hey he’s putting up the points he’s doing great things offensively but again I will stress about the defensive side of the game with Evan Bard and how well he defend in his own end and Around the Net only five high danger goals against Evan Bard went on the ice at five on five so far in the playoffs defending around your net being able to get a stick a body position that is so important so yes Evan Bard can do great things offensively yes he is a superstar CU last year he led all defenseman in the playoffs with 17 points he’s already at 27 there’s a massive jump right there he is a superstar but where he is underrated is how well he can play defensively and it will be a key against the Florida Panthers because the matchup will be barov against McDavid therefore buard and eom on the ice they’ll have to defend against reinard and Veri those two scored over 90 goals this year playoffs and regular season combined so that is why Bard is underrated and that is why he will be a key to deor success in the finals for
