Predicting The NHL Stanley Cup Finals WINNER

30 long years this entire country has not seen a team Hoist the Stanley Cup for one of their seven franchises well this year with two of the best players in all of hockey facing off on the biggest stage they have the opportunity to break history not only for their organization but for their entire country as well what’s up guys welcome back to the channel in case you couldn’t tell I’m very excited for this year’s finals matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers and like every round for this year’s Stanley Cup playoffs I’m going to be making my prediction for who I think is going to win it all this year now if you by chance caught my previous video I went over for two on my Finals Prediction I actually had Dallas going up against the Rangers so whoever I picked today maybe their fan base doesn’t want to take my recommendation because I haven’t been so hot lately now I’m basically just going to go through both of these teams what I think they need to do in order to win this series and a few things I think they need to stay away from if they don’t want to lose or beat themselves so if you guys have been liking the videos lately and you haven’t subscribed to the Channel Make sure you do that now and let’s get right into this one so let’s start with the team out east of Florida Panthers and up to this point they’ve had to play a bunch of heavy competitive competitions with some of their opponents including Andre vasileski and the lightning Jeremy Swan and the Bruins and eigor shurkin and the Rangers and no I included each of the starting goalies in there this because I feel like the Panthers are now going up against their easiest starting goalie in Stuart Skinner but before we get into the Edmonton Oilers I’m going to continue to focus on the Panthers and what they need to do in order to be successful in this series first let’s talk about their game the Panthers are a very heavy four checking team that plays a bit physical and sometimes a bit ratty meaning that they like to get some of those cheap plays in and rely on that heavy hitting nature of their team in order to be successful and the reason they are so successful is because they do this with some of their highest Talent players including Matthew kachu Alexander barov and other ratty guys like Sam Bennett and Carter Veri all of these guys are very skilled in the offensive end but know how to throw a hit and get a few cheap plays under their belt they all know how to fight they all know how to get under people’s skin and that’s the way the Panthers play their hockey they also have a very strong defensive unit headed by Montour and forsing who are both having fantastic years and backed in net by Sergey bosski so if they have a mistake or two they know he’ll clean the up so for the Panthers to win this series they need to continue playing their brand of hockey but with a little bit of a Twist now like I said the Panthers are a pretty ratty team but the Edmonton Oilers are the one team in this league who I feel like can expose the Panthers if they play a little bit too ratty and what I mean by this is that the Edmonton Oilers are clicking at a very high power play rate at almost 40% to be exact hovering around a 37% success rate through the postseason so if you’re going to take a lot of penalties in this series be prepared to pay for it because conter McDavid and Leon dyle are going to shove it back in your face so for the Panthers in this series I think they need to remain physical and play their brand of hockey but they need to play a clean physical game try to stay out of the box to not give the Oilers the advantage on the power play because the Panthers play better 5v5 than the Oilers do but the Oilers play way better on the man Advantage than any other team in the league the other thing that the Panthers need to focus on is letting their defense handle the blue line and keeping the pock out of the Zone because the Edmonton Oilers are one of the best Zone possession time teams in the NHL and they know how to bury you with some of their star players with Hyman like I said McDavid dry subtle and of course guys like Newen Hopkins they are all very skilled and know how to make you pay for stupid mistakes so for the Panthers to win this series the keys is to play a physical game of hockey like you have been but not with the ratty style that you have seen in a bunch of the other Series this year like the Boston one or even the Rangers one keep yourselves out of the box keep the puck in your own end and try to just limit the amount of goals that the Oilers can score if you find yourself trailing in games turn on the Jets with your offense like you have in every single third period this year of the postseason and just rely on some of your top guys to do what they do best and that’s hit people and score goals I think the Panthers are going to be in a great situation this year but before I make my prediction with them let’s head over to the other side with the Edmonton Oilers now like I was talking about with the Panthers a little bit of a recap I think the Oilers have one really really really big advantage in this series and that’s that they have the two best players in the world on their team and they know how to use this to their advantage what I mean by that is like I said with their power play and special teams in general I think a stat that goes underrated for the Oilers is their penalty kill this post season they are stopping 93% of the power plays that they give to their opposing team as well as scoring on around 40% of the power plays that they get this year those are both League leading in the postseason and for people who doubted the Edmonton Oilers heading into the playoffs this is the one statistic you should have been paying the most attention to because when it comes to the NHL playoffs special teams wins series and championships that’s just the way things go and when you have a guy like Conor McDavid who is at the head of your execution you kind of have everything going your way but obviously the Panthers are going to be much more disciplined in this series so what can the Oilers do to try to get them to take more penalties well obviously don’t go flopping or anything like that just continue to play the smart brand of hockey that you have been put the puck in your best skater hands like I said McDavid dry settle Heyman continue to apply pressure skate fast because Flor is not going to be able to keep up with some of your top guys and also try to keep your defensive unit in the best position as possible because through the playoffs their defense has looked way better than they have in Prior years and when they have a good defense their goal tending seems to be much better than when their defense is playing sloppy and you could say that’s for every team but when it comes to Stuart Skinner he shown that once the floodgates open they pour so if you can just keep the scoring and shots down then steuart Skinner has been a solid goalie when it comes to those low danger situations but when the shots start to increase that’s when steuart Skinner gets a bit shaky and you see more goals going in for the opponent so in order for the Edmonton Oilers to win this series just keep your heads level don’t try to match the game of the Florida Panthers like other teams have tried say in Boston or New York just stick with your game plan use your skill and speed to your advantage and try not to out physical this Panthers team because there’s a big reality check coming for you if you try to do that it’s just not going to work do I think the Edmonton Oilers have enough that’s the question here and I actually do heading into the playoffs I contined to doubt them I thought that outside of their star players their depth just wasn’t enough and that their defense had way too many flaws for them to get this deep but after seeing some of the performances and Star emergences from guys like EOL and buard these guys have really shown me that they’re capable of being the top pairing defenseman for a Stanley Cup team and I will say I have to give some flowers to steuart Skinner as well this guy’s looked phenomenal especially during that Dallas series I felt like he was stopping every single Puck and was basically made of velcro the way he just covered up rebounds and prevented Dallas from getting to their spots I think that the Edmonton Oilers are actually going to pull this one out in seven I know some people have their doubts about this team but I feel like McDavid is playing with the most confidence he’s ever played with in his career care and I feel like the guys are really rallying behind his leadership this year and that should be enough for them to get it done after I just take a look at everything the statistics the players I just feel like Edmonton has that slight edge with their stars and that’s going to really benefit them in this series along with their special team success because I think that that’s just huge for this team but let me know what you guys think about all this I know this isn’t a super long video but I wanted to get my predictions out there just my thoughts on the series and both teams in general I’ll be rooting for the Edmonton Oilers in the playoffs this year I really would love to see
