Your argument means they would almost never suspend a player. As the majority of NHL suspensions are for plays that are 2-5 minute penalties if the player is fine and a suspension if the player hit is injured. Injury is probably there number 1 factor in deciding suspensions. Suspensions do also go up when it’s a star player hit.
Carson Soucy is not getting a 1 game suspension for the crosscheck in round 2 if it’s on Ceci.
