NEWS: New York Jets SIGN UFL Standout Kohl Levao! | Pass Blocking Interior O-Linemen

[Music] all right guys what’s going on welcome in so we have some Jets news that came out I want to say like two three hours ago here uh from the XFL the Jets are signing offensive lineman a versatile offensive lineman Cole Laval this is somebody who can play left guard Right Guard or Center and he’s coming out for the XFL 26 years old has awesome size at 6’6 350 lb and was pretty good for the San Antonio bras last season in the XFL and you know keep in mind it’s just 10 games per year there in the XFL but his pass blocking abilities were highlighted now I’m not the biggest PFF guy but I think it is worth noting that PFF had Laval ranked as the ninth best pass blocking interior offensive lineman in the XFL but going back to his college days at Hawaii he started every single game in his senior year uh again pass blocking ability were highlighted once again he was primarily uh the warrior Center though and then in the last game of the season kicked over to left guard only allowed one sack all year and unfortunately was not drafted ends up in the XFL a couple years later and uh now he’s now he’s signing a contract with the New York Jets so I’m wishing him well I I think adding one more interior offensive lineman was necessary it kind of feels like the cherry on top um because look we have dep at so many different positions but in the event that Joe titman goes down or avt just can’t get back to 100% it would be nice to add a guy to the roster that can maybe you know play a little bit of both positions and that is exactly what lava does um so I’m excited and I I think something else to make a note of the Jets worked out Pat effin we still have a little bit of cap space left there are still so many veteran offensive linemen out on the free agent market so the fact that he was handpicked here from Joe Douglas to me says something about maybe the upside the potential here that he sees uh in Laval so anyway let me know your thoughts Down Below in the comment section thanks so much for watching I really appreciate it and as always go Jets [Music]

  2. These stories are 1000 times more important than the Jets chasing some celebrity player. This guy will bust his butt to get on the roster and won't coast. Thanks for not coming up with the 10,000th story about Aaron and mini camp. Who cares??? This story is really important to the Jets.

  7. Hell yeah! I live outside San Antonio. Nice addition for the Jets. I feel like it be one of those feel good stories where he'll be placed on the practice squad and work his butt off to the starting Oline.

  8. That's pretty exciting to see. There are guys in these alternate leagues (UFL, CFL, etc.) that can play in the NFL. Maybe not stars, but quality backups or rotational pieces. We kinda ignore how circumstances can derail a career. You're a low round pick or UDFA, coach and GM get fired 1yr into your career, new coach and GM didn't pick you. Or the coaches don't really develop you, you get injured, then they draft a guy at your position 3 rounds higher. For some of these low round/undrafted guys it really is just that quick that you're out of the league.

  11. This is the real value of a spring league – an opportunity to develop personnel not quite ready for the nfl, and to screen talent in game situations. This doesn't mean he'll be great, but it definitely means he's worth taking a look at in training camp.

  12. Looks like it'll be Xavier Newman vs Kohl Levao for backup LG spot. Schweitzer at C then Jake Hanson vs Max Mitchell at RG. I like it. May the best men win. It feels like they don't plan on bringing back McGovern back.
