Ranking the Ravens Offense !!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] with [Music] what’s good what’s good what’s good welcome back to another episode of s the T films and um wasn’t didn’t plan on doing this live stream today just happened to come across this while I was doing some work for my main job my nine to5 and um just had YouTube playing and you know when you watch a video and you just let it roll some other videos just happen to play that YouTube recommends and this was one of the the videos that YouTube recommend what’s up cam it recommended this video so um and I thought it was cool to kind of you know bring it to you guys and and talk about it and see what they talking about what up cam let’s let’s let’s see why my what’s called not low why my chat not low let’s see why my chat box not load let’s see if we can get that fixed oh there it is now it’s load there it is all right now the chat box load so we good all right so uh appreciate uh Daniel Barry pelis yes I am getting NCA what up Malik what up cam what up Matt D so I’m kind of scared to show the video because I don’t want to get demed so we gonna kind of listen to mina K’s and her guest and um I’ll pause it throughout and kind of you know talk about what they say and as you guys listen you can you know make your comments in the chat box and if you’re watching the replay you can put your comments down below say whether you agree or disagree with what they say or if you agree or disagree with my rebuttal to what they say I thought it was a fairly interesting conversation um I will go on record and say this Mina is one of the few people from the big networks that I listen to that I I feel like she does her research and comes genuine she don’t just throw stuff out there for clicks so she’s one of the few people that that I really mess with from the the big networks and um that I really respect her her her grind her hustle and her acument for the game so let’s kind of get into it and um and go forward let’s let’s take a listen see I might need to let’s see let me turn this down let’s see how this Gonna Roll might need to put my headphones on too let’s see how this work this is i i i people will not agree with this uh I want to say the Packers but I feel like that’s not too spicy I have five I I got nothing I got the Baltimore Ravens oh oh okay okay where do you have the bore Ravens top 10 I have them fourth fifth sixth seventh second okay so a lot of things went into this thought process I think there are correct concerns about the uh departures on the offensive line um we all have I like Rosen Garden who’s the right tackle that they’re I assume he’s going to start who they drafted from Washington but um it’s you know I I thought this offensive line was pretty underrated last season we didn’t talk about them enough I thought they did a really that’s the first I’ve heard anybody say that our offensive line was underrated I’ve never heard that comment come from anybody but let’s let’s let’s let’s just he good job um I also when we talked about the quarterback draft I talked a little bit about Lamar Jackson and his play Under Pressure in particular just by the end of the season what a nightmare he was for fourman rushes and uh I think that he will compensate for a lot of that but for me this bet um is really a bet on like year two with Todd monin Because by the end of the season I know we’re all like very angry about the final game but when I kind of looked back on how this offense evolved and some of the different um tweaks that he made and the way he built on Greg Ran’s Run game expanded it the way he integrated the run and the pass in particular with the RPO and their play action passing attacks there was a lot that I liked yeah um it’s a offense that actually finished second and weed DVA by the way on offense uh and then fifth in success rate which tied the Dolphins um so there’s a number of things that I could talk about here but one thing that I really was interested in looking back on was just kind of the use of personnel groupings and the Run path I she’s going to talk about the use of personnel groupings and we know we all know that if a certain individual was on the field with the last coordinator we had a good idea of what was gonna happen and we know we all know who that individual was let Lena I mean I mean not Lena let Mina splits out of them because with Greg Roman it was always like so obvious you know uh if they were an 11 they were passing it they were in heavy groups they were running the ball and they did it at a really high level but I think with monin and important Point here the Ravens Personnel groupings can be a little bit misleading because Patrick C card was BAS tight end you know this in this offense last year so when we say 21 personnel which they used a lot it’s really kind of a modified 12 um but going from comparing 2022 and that’s what I said with patard it’s tough to quantify him as a fullback because he does so much more at the tight end spot when you look at parck C last year ver the year before he was more lined up in tight end spots than he was at traditional full back spots and even though we used him to do fullback things he was really lined up at the end of the line of scrimmage and yet he mov some to the back field but he wasn’t he’s classified as a fullback but he wasn’t traditionally used as a let me get my air quotes in fullback so we not you know it’s tough to3 uh so um when they were in 21 personnel or pardon me uh 12 Personnel back with Greg Roman uh they passed 82% of the time and were not very good at it negative3 EPA per play WoW when they were in 12 this year it was a 5050 run pass rate anytime youing a negative a negative something EPA that’s not good NE and and E the E and the EPA stands for expected so you’re a native EPA expected that’s horrible for Greg Roman horri like Charles B used to say terrible and they averaged 057 EPA per pass which is insane and we knew by the way Todd monin coming from Georgia was really good at those 12 personel and that’s by the way with only half a season of Mark Andrews uh I thought uh similarly when uh before when they were in 21 personnel um this year actually they ran the ball a bit more but they were very very effective throwing out of those looks I think the next thing we’re going to see is better uh integration of the run in the pass when they are in 11 because they still mostly pass the ball uh out of those looks so you didn’t really see like we with the Ravens I thought okay now that they’ve got these wide receivers we’re going to see them spread the field out and run uh with that spatial advant what I don’t think she um is taken into account is even though we just well first all Let Let me let me go here first our 11 personnel is probably going to be for the most part Z baitman Melly TZ Mark slash um likely that’s probably going to be our 11 personnel for the most part what I don’t think she is taken in account and I don’t blame her because she’s not a Baltimore Ravens like beat Rider or she covers that’s only the Baltimore Ravens is how much more 12 we’re going to see because I think and I hope that monin is going to use likely a lot more in conjunction with Mark and not as a backup or when Mark’s tired or when Mark is hurt or you know when when Mark’s not on the field advantage and you didn’t quite see that last year and to me that’s going to be kind of like the next thing you can potentially see but for the most part I thought you know the run past HS weren’t as dramatic as they were and as a result the pass game building off of the Run was much more effective sorry that was a lot of numbers and word salad so and I’m just going to chime in with more numbers like to your point I have a stat uh about like how defenses found it awkward to match up with their personnel when Ricard was out there opposing defenses treat him like a like a fullback in terms of matching Personnel when when they were in base Personnel they they matched 88% of the time when when uh Ricard was on the field and there were like 11 personnel sets there were 12 personel Personnel sets whenever any other team had a full back on the field that number is 30% so 58% higher rate of matching Personnel when Ricardo out there and so basically what that means is when rard comes on the field they bring bigger Personnel on the field what that be another linebacker another defensive lineman they bring bigger Personnel out on the field that’s that’s what in like you said monin used that brilliantly to me like he put Ricardo on the line of scrimmage he used him basically as a six uh offensive lineman like a third offensive tackle and he was like giving him Aiden Hutchinson on his own oneon-one like those are like the screenshots we tweet out and we’re like why would you ever do this as an offensive coordinator it was working with Ricard and that just gave Lamar more time to operate in the pocket which I think he does need I think the one criticism you can make of him as a dropback passer is he does need to speed up his process a little bit but I also think I agree with you I think they’re G and I haven’t I don’t know if you guys have but I haven’t heard anybody say that that Lamar needs to speed his process up and when you think about that that’s a fair criticism that’s not Shade that’s a fair criticism it and it’s not saying that he he’s bad in it it just need he just needs to go through his progression faster and that’s not saying that’s saying the the the route combos need to be tweaked where they’re like the the hitch curl needs like the the curl flat need to happen faster or the the the the meshes need to happen faster so he can read them f F that’s that’s with him saying Lamar’s name that’s not really an indication of hey it’s just Lamar the whole thing needs to happen faster not just like monin drawing up of stuff needs to happen faster it’s not like the guys need to get open faster the that’s that’s that’s a a a criticism of the whole offense not just Lamar to me I don’t know about to you guys but to me that’s a that’s a criticism of the whole offense we going to spread things out more if you read the te leaves of kind of what they’re saying Lamar lost weight and it’s not because they’re not going to use him as a design Runner I think they want him to scramble more like a lot of their explosive plays were from him scrambling and if you listen to Todd Monk and talk about his philosophy on offense he talks about the the value of being able to spread things out and then having a running quarterback and how much stress that puts on you spatially for defense and how that opens up things and when you think about the Ravens and Lamar’s fit in this offense the past couple years this is maybe the best space player we’ve ever seen in the NFL and they put him in a box and I think this is the first year we’re going to get to see him come out of that box and really get to play in a true spread offense in the NFL yeah it now with with with him saying that with him saying that and I said it uh I don’t know when I said it but I really think we haven’t seen the best Lamar yet because I think Lamar can can do all that stuff throwing the ball get better throwing and still when when guys don’t get open or when stuff break down he can scramble and we still can see another tier of Lamar Jackson and that’s why I think he can win MVP again even if he don’t win it this year I still think he can be a three four five time MVP and a two three four time Super Bowl win like we haven’t I truly wholeheartedly think we haven’t seen the best of Lamar Jackson but let’s keep going um we talked about this with the quarterback draft but it’s kind of remarkable that in a year where Lamar dson visually was clearly not even running like that hard he’s still like dominated a bunch of statistics and as you said like I I do think that there there’s something strategic about him wanting to lose weight wanting to run a little bit more um the only thing that like I said the offensive line was the concern I have and then the other thing is like you know I like really liked what I saw from zate fls but if rad baitman doesn’t take another step this is still a wide receiver group that doesn’t match up well with every group of you know every secondary you saw that I think in the playoffs too when they ran into more physical cornerbacks um and I think part of the reason why you know even uh with imp that’s a great take that’s a great take our wide receiver group don’t match up the The More Physical cornerbacks that’s a great take mean let me let me let me ponder that for a minute the small in stature Z flowers uh bigger physical cornerbacks Z can kind of get roughed up at the line of scrimmage um uh baitman tall slinder guy you know guys that want to rough him up uh Nelly never really been a a rough and tough now we we add T to that tall slender guy we don’t have that thick muscular I’mma mess you up guy we so we may be still in that same boat if we get a team that that want to um you know be rough and and jam you at the line of scrimmage we got to depend on likely likely is the only guy that can maybe Debo somebody off the line of scrimmage and get open likely and maybe mark But then Mark slow is it’s me so we may be still in that same boat but we’ll see we’ll see and and and in those situations is where Lamar’s scrambling ability may come in play because if somebody wants to play man and rough our guys up Lamar you know when they can’t get open Lamar has to use his feet you know when he don’t have you know guys to throw to proved wide receivers and I and I really did think Z was still good they were not effective throwing the ball out of 11% they were very effective running the ball they just didn’t run it very often but throwing the ball they were actually in 11 personnel with three wide receivers on the field uh 20th in EPA for play behind the Denver Broncos uh so that feels like that’s still like the missing piece with this offense I feel like if Lamar Jackson is see I told y’all she she she do she do a research man she she just don’t be throwing stuff out there she give y’all some good stuff well give us some good stuff that’s why I respect really really Dynamic scrambling out of those looks however that should make things easier for the past game yeah it can I make a pitch for the offensive line I know I know they’ve lost pieces but I think there’s a chance that this offensive line has a higher ceiling last Andrew Vorhees is replacing Johnson a wide receiver group that does the playoffs too when they you know flowers was they just didn’t still like really this offensive line has a higher than last year’s offensive line like Andrew Vorhees is replacing John Simpson at left guard he was a seventh round pick I think but before he injured himself during the pre-draft cycle like he was seen as a first round pick there’s a very good chance that this guy is a decent player at left guard which I think would could be an upgrade over John Simpson and then Rosen Garden I I I don’t think he’s gonna be a better pass protector than Morgan Moses was which was kind of an issue for Moses but he does profile as like a road grading Runner uh run blocker who could give them a little more physicality at point of attack one thing I will say about now at now that that the John Simson part I think he’s right I agree with him on but I think the opposite with Rosen Gardner and and um Morgan Moses I think Rosen Gardner would be a better pass protector than than Morgan Moses and I think Morgan Moses would have been a better run blocker because Morgan Moses was pretty good when he was pulling I think when when Morgan Moses pulled on those Powers en counters I think he did a pretty good job at it but I think in past Pro I think Rosen Garden would be better but let’s let’s let’s keep listen about the offensive line after the Chiefs game Drew tranquil told me in the locker room he was like they had nothing at the point of attack like they were getting no movement at the point of attack we we just dominated them and that’s why they stopped running the football in his opinion so I do think getting nastier on the off hold on I got something for Drew crank I got something that what Drew crank Drew I got something for you drew tranquil for that statement stop the of line could serve a purpose in January by the way Patrick rard I think I had him as first team allpro I feel like he had like one of the alltime fullback seasons and it’s kind of been slept on he was unbelievable last year him and uh inold for Miami yeah key players to their offenses okay who do you have so do you have the Packers at all right so that’s what it was like I was like I said I was doing my work for my 9 and5 this morning and this video popped up and I thought it was interesting cuz I I was just doing my work I didn’t even expect Baltimore Ravens to be in this list and when she said Baltimore Ravens I perked up and um started listening to it and I was like you know let me finish my work and then I come back to it once I finish and that’s what I did I decided to you know bring it to you guys and add my little two cents to it and um really so tell me what you guys think man if you’re listening to it you know the replay put in the comment section what you guys think about me K and her guest I don’t remember the PS This guy’s name is not Lenny he’s oh his name is Stephen Ruiz okay his name is Steven Ruiz so tell me what you think about Mina kind’s and Steven’s list and then what you think about my two cents 1. Ravens like speedy smaller WRs that stretch the defence with only moderate success. They need a true possession receiver. Zay needs to be in the slot and let Bateman take the X and Nelson at the Y. Sometimes I think Likely should have converted to WR. 😂😂

  2. I think they'll do better w/ the off-season changes. Even if they only match last year's play. The addition of King Henry gets them to the Bowl 💪🏾
