2024 NHL Draft Selections: Luke Ellinas (104th Overall, Ottawa Senators)
look how’s it feel it’s uh absolute honor I mean something I’ve worked through for my whole life and uh it’s crazy feeling uh who’s all here with you today I have a lot of family here I mean wouldn’t have be here without them I mean they’ve helped me ever since I started playing hockey so it’s really honored to have and uh really appreciate them coming out what was you know going to bed last night trying to sleep waking up this morning what’s today been like for you in that regard I mean obviously nerves I’m sure everyone feels the same way but um I just tried to enjoy it living the moment and uh you know whatever happened uh just kind of realized that it’d be in the same situation either way so I was really happy you know hear my name and it was yeah crazy what have the kitchen arrangers meant to your development oh they’ve meant so much I mean coming here this year um you know like coaches uh players staff everyone was so great helped me so much wouldn’t be here without them what is your head coach meant to you know you developing as a player since arriving in kitchen he’s played a huge role I mean um coming into to the year as well I didn’t know him he was a new coach to the team and um he came in you know helped me so much um learned so much from him like helped our team so much and looking forward to continuing to learn from him having other NHL drafted players on your team how much of a resource were they all year as you were going through uh they were such a big part you know asking questions advice anything learning from them was a like huge resource um some of my best friends on the team drafted so it’s uh they played a huge role in this and I’m so grateful for them as well when you look down at the Jersey how exciting is it just to look at that it still doesn’t feel real right now I mean it’s just unbelievable so how was your your week when did you get here I got here on Tuesday on Tuesday night and uh how did feel sorry sorry Thursday Thursday sorry okay I’m yeah it’s I bet yeah so um and how did it feel when you heard your name called can you describe any of those emotions yeah it just like like shock almost like just crazy like you know something I said before like work for your whole life and come out to that moment it’s unbelievable feeling amazing and um so what can awers fans I guess expect from your game uh just someone who plays hard competes every night and you know we’ll do anything to win and are you familiar with the the senators or players you have any yeah I was a fan growing up actually so I’m pretty excited amaz who’s your favorite player growing up I was a a Carlon fan nice so yeah yeah makes sense all right like
