  1. What exactly is the offside rule specifically? This always confusing me. From my understanding, I thought the puck had to cross the line completely before the entire player crosses it.

    I see here the puck has barely crossed the line, but the full player hasn’t crossed the ice yet. One skate is over the line, but not the other skate.

    Does the puck have to cross the line before both skates?

  2. The puck crosses the line when the player still has one skate that has not yet crossed the line. The puck enters the zone before the player. So why is it offside?

  3. So… they got the right call… and it was very important, however. Spending that much time to confirm BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT, and with enough evidence that it was offside is beyond insane. If it was that close (1-3mm) then let it slide. Irl speed that’s around 0.05 seconds of movement between him being over the line and being on it.
