[Music] going on guys this is Alec Thomas from the Arizona Diamondbacks what I’m rocking with this year got a vicus bat um I’m actually using a bunch of different bats so uh yeah I got uh dovetail Chandler uh victus Louisville Slugger um in the past I’ve always used Louisville Slugger but uh I tried to you know uh test out the other other bats and see what we got and see if I like any others better but um I’ve always been true to Louisville Slugger what bad is this here model um this is the I3 uh um pretty standard bat nothing crazy yeah that’s why I’ve been using I13 uh pretty much my whole life and you were saying that you’re new to the lizard skin game yeah new to the lizard skin game um this is like a a half I’m pretty sure thickness wise um I like it um definitely reliev some pressure and and um you know it’s pretty sticky too so um I like it so far what made you want to pick it up like was it a teammate did you pick up a different guy’s bat uh no so I had some uh wrist soreness and um I was just trying to relieve the pressure you know off my wrist and um I think lizard skin does a good job of uh having like cushion and uh it’s definitely helped and uh was it late in the the year that you were feeling that like over just the course of 162 um actually it’s been it’s been a while since my wrist has been hurting since like 2022 so oh wow yeah um so right now I mean it feels pretty decent so um yeah and I also got uh different different styles obviously other than white you got some teal got some you know red black white gray so um the other bats are they similar to the I13 as well uh yeah they’re all going to be I13 um yeah yeah they’re all going to be I13 got um there might be um a little bit of a difference in like this part of the bat right here or like the handle but um for me I like a like a flared type handle um one that’s not going to put any pressure on my wrist so um and then uh glove I’m a Rawlings guy so um this is you know brand new um I got the teal in there um yeah normally I’m a pretty you know stock guy I I don’t really um trying to get too crazy with the glove but this this one uh 12 and 3/4 um it’s a pro 30 39 6 JB I don’t even know what that is but um so when did you design this one up when uh probably like a month ago uhhuh and they got it to us pretty quick it was quicker than normal Crazy Fast yeah but it was hard the hi uhhuh have you tried the other Leathers at all like Pro preferred um yeah I have and uh I think this one’s probably the best um but it is dry out here and and you know my gloves get kind of dry so I try to uh lather it up with um some some oil that uh I got from uh my high school um coach um is it specific oil or yeah it’s called Uh Sara’s baseball oils or something like that oh wow okay um yeah I’ve been using that but it’s definitely kept the gloves nice and is that for conditioning to break in both yeah it’s uh it’s uh definitely uh conditioning and also uh you know breaking in as well so um and what have you been using this spring have you used last year’s game or are you trying to break something new in um I’ve used I’m using a glove that um I didn’t use last year um it was it’s brand new um been using that but um also trying to break this in cuz I do like the teal and you know we have a lot of teal in our jerseys this year so I’m going try to get this thing ready so you’re trying to get at least alternate yeah is it going to be a home away type of thing or uh maybe we’ll see maybe it might be a jersey thing so um I’m I’m guessing it’ll probably be in up being a jersey thing but and how about the Oakleys that you got on the um yeah I’ve had these for a while um everyone’s trying to copy me now on on at least the Diamondbacks where like they didn’t know these existed but I’ve had them for like 2 three years yeah and um yeah I’ve enjoyed them and you know they look pretty cool so what’s that spring process like do they have like a bunch of styles out for you like how does it work um yeah there’s an Oakley guy that comes by and um that guy has all the stuff um he comes in with a big old bag and um you know we we get to pick or whatever or trade it in or switch out the lenses but um he said he would come back cuz he ran out cuz everybody was asking for these so um so I’ve I’ve had them for a while I got two pairs so I got a teal pair and a Navy pair yeah so you’re putting the whole team on yeah a little bit um I remember we talked in New York you talking about just how you had like a bunch of different gloves growing up um but like who were the actual lefties like gloves that you actually got to use I know Deo was one yeah Alejandro diazza was one and then um funny uh David Robertson from yeah yeah the pitcher he he throws rty but he wore a lefty you know mitt out there so not know that like for shagging yeah for shagging and uh he gave me the glove um towards the end of the year I can’t remember what year was but um I rocked that uh I had an Academia glove yeah I a just a regular stock Rollings glove that I rocked a Wilson glove just a bunch of like hand hand me downs from some of the players over the over the years at the White Soxs I feel you um is there a piece of gear out there in the league that you’re like damn I’d love to get my hands on that could be a you know a pair of cleats you know a bat even um I mean mookie bets has some of the coolest stuff I I’ve seen like the Jordan yeah all his gear is pretty sweet and you know I would love to get to that point at some yeah absolutely in my career but obviously um you know it takes a lot of hard work to get that but um no that’s that’s pretty sweet I definitely would would love a pair of well you always rocked the 11s last year pregame you think you running back this year um no I hav decided on what I want to wear I think I think I might wear some Kobes yeah um any specific colorway yeah I actually had them in my car I guess I could have brought him out here but um I accidentally wore him and forgot to bring him back inside but um the OB that have uh like the 248 and two yeah I have the te purple te teal te I got both pair yeah I got both pair but um yeah the teal I’ll probably wear just if we’re not doing anything and we’re chilling I’ll probably wear those around the field and then those are I’ll switch into to these trainers right here try to just keep my shoes clean this year cuz I I kind of got my Jordan dirty so um and I can’t wear them ever again so I hear I want to I want to be able to wear those again now those Kobes are insane my last one for you Alec uh favorite home-cooked meal uh favorite homecooked meal uh um well my mom makes uh this dish called kichi um it’s uh shrimp with uh papano pepper uh like cream or whatever and you it’s on a bed of rice and that’s probably my favorite yep and then uh my girl’s been making some like bacon chicken Ranch like wraps and I’ve been crushing those so those are those are good too post game just yeah throw the things back yeah yeah that was dope appreciate you bro [Music]
