anything uh of importance anything anything interesting you could think of uh actually it was a big day I uh when I got my Dunkin order this morning there was actually uh an extra hash brown in my daily hash PR order so The Vibes were I think pretty good going into it and then one thing led to another and all a sudden the Bruins have a a 66 Russian and a uh a new top six center all of a sudden so I want I’m not going to say it’s all Duncan it’s you can blame Duncan for or credit Duncan rather but um I think there’s a little bit of a correlation there if you ask me and that extra hash brown suddenly John Henry owns the Celtics so it just it all comes together perfectly as you as you would want um big day for the Bruins in free agency and we’ll Dive Right In because I you know I know people want us to get into this and I want to into this um Bruins do some big things they go out they get Ellas home like we expect uh seven years 7.75 million per um that was one and then zadorov was with it Nikita zadorov a 6 foot6 defenseman uh played for Vancouver last year with Lind Holm for a little bit uh six years five million per um in the process de brus goes out the door Heinen goes out the door forbert maroon they’re out the door jper Bist is out the door wasn’t even issued a qualifying offer grizzli is out the door as well uh what’s your initial reaction to today yeah I mean I think you give credit to the Bruins in terms of they’re identifying the key needs or or what they view as their key needs and get two guys that I think Shore up critical areas of your lineup right like as much as I think Lindo we could probably dive into whether or not he’s a true number one Center like is he maybe more of an elite uh you know 2C or or something like that um he’s still he signs here he’s automatically the best uh guy down the middle you have he gives you options now where you can roll with you know Pavo zaka on the wing you can move Charlie Coyle further down the lineup something like that so I think that one was a given I think we were all were kind of more or less expecting them to come away with at least one guy down the middle whether that is lindol Chandler Stevenson who signs a seven-year deal out in Seattle I don’t think anyone to have that on the uh on the Bingo board in terms of what was going to happen in free agency but uh so that one’s not surprising lindol and we’ll dive more into him but uh the defense and especially zadorov is intriguing in terms of I think how the Bruins mapped out what they’re going to do with this other contract like we we mapped it out like yes a good portion of the Bruins cap space was gonna have to go to Jeremy straman and that looming contract that he is going to sign but you also look at all right you still had you know the means to probably sign a top six forward or defenseman uh to a deal around you know five five and a half six million and instead of you know opting for you know retaining Jake debrusk or signing a guy like you know Jonathan Maro who signed for 5.5 million per year um they instead opted for defense and added a guy that uh is intriguing right like he is Nikita zov is kind of Controlled Chaos out there maybe chaos but um just complete chaos yeah I I mean he is a really intriguing player like the you can see like the way he impacts the game especially how he played down the stretch for Vancouver he was arguably probably their second most impactful defenseman after uh after Quinn Hughes uh super physical uh will does a lot of damage every time he uh hops over the boards on a shift but also maybe sneaky in terms of how uh agile he is really good at puck retrievals uh Zone exits um there’s a little bit more than just I think you look at him and it’s easy to M put him in the same category as like a Joel Edmonson right like 65 bruising guy block shots like he can do a little bit more than that which is probably why the Bruins paying him five million but I think that’s going to be the biggest you know maybe question not in terms of like door of like what he can bring because I think we know what he can bring and he’s definitely a guy that you can see how he plays and he’s a player that uh you know could come in handy especially when get to the play play offs you’re playing against a team like Florida uh next spring but uh in terms of just I the bro’s decision to sign a defenseman over a a forward I think that’s going to be the probably the biggest question mark because right now you’re looking at it you still have kind of a glaring vacancy in that top six that Don Sweeney mentioned that you’re looking at maybe a guy like Fabian lysel or geie merkulov making the jump up there but you know it alwayss right would you rather have had zadorov or would you rather have like a Maro or tle or someone else like that so I think that’s going to be the biggest question mark in terms of just what path the Bruins took with kind of that second contract they could have handed out that’s the biggest question mark as you said to me is you know we knew lindol and we’ll get into that in a second but that’s not a surprise by any means everybody had L um would have been shocking if if it wasn’t um but then you look at zidor and they elect to to add on defense and I think my biggest takeaway from today is this is a very different Bruins team than there was than it was last year I mean you look at uh Lind Tom n you have a you know a number one Center whether or not he’s a true number one Center we can get into but you signed him to be a number one Center Don Sweeney alluded to it multiple times GNA play with David po knock that’s a new look zadorov six foot6 on your back end bruising guy that hits everything that moves um you know I think there’s an element to his game has quite you know uh shown itself fully yet uh in terms of Puck movement and uh you know that element of the game he mentioned it today a lot of that offense he’s you he’s 29 and again we see we talked about this with Dean Loro Conor like those big guys take a while to develop it’s not an immediate thing rarely did they just show up Zara took a long time to develop people forget that and I think zadorov is an interesting case of like okay if he still has lots more to his game this 5 million could look great in two years on the other end he could be Derek forbert 2.0 and that 5 million looks like a complete Albatross and it’s like why were you not going for a forward and so there’s that end of it too but you even look at like the bottom six guys that they added today big bruising Guys these are you know these are hardto play against type players so this Bruins team and you look at the guys going out too right de Brusque hinan um grizzli obviously as well you know like these guys going out except for forbert and maroon know even boquist you know more speed a little more skill not a lot of you know uh physicality to it right like and so I just they’re different team they’re a different team they’re clearly I know Sweeney said they weren’t intentionally going for this identity I think they kind of were um you know obviously these guys can play but I do think you know you look at the heights you look at the weights you look at how this team’s going to be constructed um they’re they want to be hard to play against my biggest question is and you know we’ve kind of hit on this what’s their scoring G to look like have they fixed the scoring issue because I don’t think they fully have I think lindol helps no doubt but you and I were on the same page the whole time they needed a top six Wing especially if Jak to brusk was gonna walk and um they still don’t have that it doesn’t seem like it’s really in the cards you know maybe it’s a a cheaper one like a Cam Atkinson down the road um but again I A A A true like a TFI or a duclair I mean duclair signed a pretty reasonable deal four years 3.5 million per with the Islanders like a guy like that could have used um but they’re different team I think they’re much different team and they have a clear identity as a as a hard-nosed physical team that isn’t going to get pushed around yeah I mean I I I think it’s something where you look at uh especially the way the post season went this past year I guess maybe the last two years against a team like Florida like having a guy like zadorov can Loom Lodge in terms of just having a guy that is so physical um and and not even just like the hits right the hits are the things everyone points to when you look at zidor his highlight rless him just obliterating guys sending them into next week we all know that but like I think you just see in the playoffs right like these uh you know loga defensemen who are able to just uh clear guys out of great AI uh win Puck battles you know kill the clock uh when they’re fighting for a puck in the corners or anything like that those kind of the small details that you maybe take for granted that I think get magnified once you get into the playoffs and the ice shrinks so much I think that’s where the value of those guys um really kind of shines and again like you’re paying him five million a year like I think they as you said earlier they think he has more room to grow like listen he’s not going to I think be a 40o guy or anything like that but he was originally like a first TR pick off of his kind of blend of being an offensive offensively gifted 6 fo6 guy again he’s not going to be that but um he has more you know dynamic play than than one would think in terms of what he can provide and I mean you saw in that series those two series with Vancouver right he had four goals and eight points in 13 games um was you know had an endtoend goal like he can you can do a little bit more than he’s not he’s not a pylon or he’s not this guy that you’re gonna see him and it’s you know like you know like a forbert where it’s like you know not flashy um not the fleetest of foot like zorf can can move a little bit and has some of that it’s just um you know I think for me it’s I don’t really have an issue especially like I thought when the Bruins were linked to zadorov right that it was going to be like 6 by six and I was like n that’s too much than I want to give five is still a sizable investment but if the Bruins are banking on him being more of what you saw in that in the the playoffs for Vancouver I can see it it’s just I think for me it’s all about how you wanted to allocate that money um but as you said like you add in a guy like zadorov you add in guys um you know like cleik uh in the allmark trade you have you know Max Jones who’s really physical draws a ton of penalties like you have these guys that again R we’ve seen how exactly that bottom sck has kind of you know plays itself out because you have guys like cleck and beer and Breo and and uh you know Jones and all these players um but you guys that all kind of fit the same mold these guys move very well they’re physical that’s kind of what you need like again maybe it’s for the brones it’s like all right we have a a pretty glaring vacancy right now right in the top six but if a guy like lysel or a guy like marov hits if it’s something that we can address in the uh middle of the year in terms of a trade or something like that um they could also you know go that route they you know regard you know depending on whatever San’s new contract is is he’s going to brunes will have some cap space left to have some of that wiggle room which is good to see um so they do have the means to address that later on if plan a b c and d of you know lysel merkulov geeky Frederick all these internal guys don’t pan out they can adjust it later on um but in terms of the identity yeah you’re seeing a team that even if maybe the Bruins weren’t looking that completely bulking up you look at just the way these guys play on the blue line and up front it does seem like you’re you’re kind of you know reinforcing your team ahead of what will you know once again be another grueling playoff run like we’re I think we’re fully expecting a Tre back down to Saw Grass Mills in South Florida next year again in the spring right and if you’re the BR Rainforest Cafe back again of course but you you feel a whole lot better about going up against the kachuck and the Bennetts if you got a 66 Russian who sends people in the next week every time he’s out on the ice right like you do feel a bit more again it doesn’t is this moving the needle of like the cup cup watches on no but it’s you feel better equipped for the playoffs right feel like you had you decided to study for the test the day the night before you just feel a lot better how equipped you are once you get to the playoffs with guys like zidor and maybe a few of these bottom six bigger bodies if they can really hit and take another step forward this upcoming year on paper they’re better than they were last year they’ve upgraded like I the Bruins have upgraded I think in the way this roster is now the one area that was that glaring spot on the second line Wing right like you you assume it would be zaka lindol poock as your first L then it’s Martian Coyle and who and that’s that’s my big question mark because maybe you try a Frederick try a lysell out of camp like you a lot of average Parts there that could work but you know maybe a Frederick jumps in there maybe it’s geeky U maybe they you know fuss around with it maybe it’s ptra maybe they triy they try Matt ptra on the wing like you know maybe you do poan on the Middle with Co on the wing whatever it is you do also have to account for Brad Martian like Brad Martian you have to put guys with Brad Martian that he wants to play with too like as much as you want to satisfy poog you Al Martian your cap effective when he’s with good players I mean he’s effective on his own but he’s also really effective with good players he just that’s my one area and like I like zadorov I like you know what he can bring I like the idea of him I like where his game could go because again like if he turns into a top pairing guy with ma boy who can make a a big impact in his own Zone and make a you know an impact offensive zone too five million is a steal for that kind of player for a guy that can do what he can do the problem is like another reason you couldn’t beat Florida is because you couldn’t score and we can get to lindol in a second but like that’s one line that’s one line and that you know definitely boosts things that boosts Poo’s production that boost own production that’ll boost Zak’s production that’s great but you need a little depth too and that’s my one area where it’s like I just I thought that was a little more glaring of a need than left you know left shot fence I liked you know Brendan Dylan and he like his contract pretty palatable that he got with New Jersey um I like the idea of that a guy that can play on the top pairing but can also slide back down and play a third pairing if lowai earns his right to be up there um you now you wonder about a like lowai too right I mean Lind Holmes locked up long term zor’s locked up long term you know is there a spot in the top four for lowai if he’s to you know progress and if zadorov doesn’t pan out and he’s on your third pair that’s a very expensive uh left shot D on your third pair but again like I like the idea of it but there Al it’s that part it’s the wing like I just that to me was a more glittering need than than going for a guy like zadorov but again if it works out it works out right like if they can get past Florida and they you know out muscle them and and and all that that’s great I just don’t know how the scoring end of it on the wing I think was just a little more glaring of a need and to going to San Jose and good for I mean it’s good for him right like play with a Smith and celebrini he’s had you know he has his cups um make your money we’re all pro get the bag um but so yeah I just I don’t know I expected I I was more looking forward to them going for for scoring on the wings than I mean defenseman yeah I mean I I also think you look at it right where I think they have around like 11-ish million so 11 10 million left in terms of C I know it kind of fluctuates in terms yeah Kevin I’m very sorry I don’t have the white board I yeah I I I can’t be I can’t be Kyle I’m not I’m not as Adept of a hockey mind hockey Maven as Carl is I just I just yell into a microphone but um uh but no I mean I think you look at it right where you have that cap space And the fact I think we were all bracing for like you know six and six with uh with zadorov when you had kind of this extra cap space all of a sudden you do have that spot where you’re like oh you know they won’t be able to sign a marcho or you know to fley or someone else like that but you mentioned before like gy like duclair who signed you know pretty reasonable deal with the Islanders like that’s a guy that even if he has you know he had that Achilles injury which you worry about long term of of impact of that defensively he’s he’s a little bit more maybe onedimensional but could give you 20 goals if he’s healthy has speed if you like s duclair uh with that remaining cap room and you still had you know eight eight and a half million left for whatever straman deal is I probably think you feel a lot better about yourself clearly the Bruin’s not deciding to kind of go fishing for you know these guys who maybe a tier below the the established top six uh Wingers out there on the market I think probably one just shows the brones are comfortable in terms of what their internal options are and again if they don’t pan out whether it’s lysel or merkulov or fredri getting a promotion geeky any of those players then it’s something they address further down the the road now again like you you don’t want to go into the routine because it can stretch for a couple of years how many times were we looking for uh were we talking about who the Bruins could have to put on David C’s Wing talk about that for a couple of years where it actually happened right so but that was a lot every year it felt like they tried it the just never really worked yeah but uh I think that you look at the Bruins again you have multiple kind of contingency plans in place for now at least and then if it doesn’t work out and you know Marian’s production crators or coil’s not driving play with kind of the rotating cast there then maybe you re you readdress things in the uh at the deadline or something like that to see who’s available or how you can kind of bolster that group so um you do have options again you probably just wish it was little bit more certainty like again you get too clear you’re like all right you have a guy that especially like I think when you put someone with Martian and Coyle you need someone who can score goals right like you got a lot of guys that can distribute do the little things have really strong two-way games the that just fires the puck with that group so again it could be a great opportunity right for a guy like LEL who’s kind of been stagnant in Providence for while to show what he can do uh if that if that is someone that takes a huge step forward that would be great terms of a cheap guy that um has skill has finishing ability but if it doesn’t you at least have other ways you can kind of turn to to kind of find that you know or maybe manufacture that top six production it might be a rotating cast it’s not the luxury of having just one guy that you can stamp into that lineup from October through April May or June but um the Bruns at least have options they have a lot of solid players that we saw last year can play up and down the lineup it’s just can they find the one guy that can kind of of complete that top six grouping for the The Long Hall you mentioned Frederick Frederick’s an interesting case because he’s going into a contract year so like this is a big year for him in terms of getting the bag and you wonder if there’s a little extra motivation players tend to do well in their contract the other thing is like you know do they put Coy do they put Zach on the wing like I know Sweeney mentioned that today but like he also mentioned you know the chairs could Shuffle you could move zaka to the middle you could put coil on the wing um you know there’s ptra there too like do you put zaka in the middle of marshand and you know uh Coyle and then have you know uh someone like merula up with Linder like I think you’re gonna see a lot of trial and error with that top six and they’re okay with that because I think they’re better defensively which four like you need to be better you’re not gonna have the goalie tandem so Swan you know was gonna have some off nights here and there I like the idea of defensively I just felt like I’d rather not be playing musical chairs with the top six um all the time but again like this this could work zadorov could end up being something and this you know the money looks cheap um but again I just I I I you know um and then lysel it’s a huge opportunity for Fabi lysel like this is they have I don’t want to say rolled up the red carpet but this is a a real chance a real chance to Be an Effective top six player in the NHL how long have we said oh they could not g move him up to the fourth line he’s not a fourth line player maybe you know put him on the third they could like there’s a spot in the top six it’s his for the taking if he wants it like and I think this is the time to go reach for it now again you know do you do Martian Coyle lysel maybe you try that out like I’m for it you know like if that’s going to be if you’re not going to go out and sign a top six guy let’s see what lysell has I know that that you know the stock is low and all that stuff I want to see what he’s got so that’s something we’re gonna talk about a lot this offseason is Fabian lysel what could he bring uh is he ready to step into a top six role um and you know are Coy and marshand offensively good enough to elevate lysel and to to help him along with that um and I think that that element of that is important um I want to get to lindol because this is something I I’ve seen more and more people being like he’s not a real one Center that was a waste of of a contract I see that more actually than was zadorov because once people see zidor off’s like hitting highlights it’s like oh he’s worth it this was a the perfect move is awesome they’re they’re already printing the t-shirts they’re going to be selling them on Causeway Street so they already them there the bootleg going to make so much money on Causeway Street with zidor off it’s crazy um first I a quick shout out and uh a word from our friends over at the Stanley Cup Final is over and what a thriller it was the Celtics are NBA champions with hockey and basketball playoffs over attention turns to the MLB and is there a better activity to do during the summer than hitting the ballparks nothing beats a summer night at Fenway Park a Fenway frag a ice cold beverage and the to the show so I think there’s lot of interesting lineup maneuvers you can make with that six just po you know we don’t know what the status of ptra we actually get a pretty good idea at this week at development Camp because this week’s also development Camp it always gets kind of overshadowed by free agency um but you know we’ll see what he you know what he’d like to start the year um but Lindholm Elliot Lindholm uh seven years 7.75 million per I was actually surprised I thought this would be over eight I thought there’d be so much uh uh so many teams going for him and and bidding that it would go over eight and you get into like the 8.25 8.5 range it’s under that 7.75 um I know a lot of f a lot of Calgary fans like oh no you don’t want this guy you know the Bruins what an overpay um I think for what he could be for what the role he’s going to fill right playing with David poock being the number one Center um has he fully proven that he’s the number one Center in the NHL no but the traits are there two-way guy uh has had had success playing with good line mates in the past um can play the bumper on the power play which is something you needed desperately you needed another option other than posto to me this is sort of like you know I’m not going to say you know he’s berson but you’re replacing the berson kind of number one Center you had before and I like it I like this what about you yeah no I agree right like is he again like a Bonafide Topline cerman probably not but like you look at the skill set what he Rings especially like in the Brewing System how much defensive responsibilities they put on their their centerman I got like Lindo makes a lot of sense and again like is he the 42 goal 80 what was it 42 goals 82 Point uh season he had in 202022 no I don’t think so but can he be a 65o guy who plays great defense can win 55 56% of his faceoffs and not just his production alone but his presence in terms of you know push in a guy like zaka to the wing or Moving Co further down the lineup like just having another guy that you can slot in there just puts all the other pieces in place right like it’s even like you looked at you know not comparing them as players but when like David crae came back uh for his final year just having a guy that you could slot in makes it the rest of the team that much better like all right we can put Zach over here we can move Coyle down and keep him at 3C like I think just having another proven guy in that lineup in that top six spot just helped help out the rest of the team regardless of you know beyond just what I think Lind home can provide with his own game so yes is he a a guy that all a sudden is going to break out and have an 80o season I don’t think so but um you look at what he provides and the fact that he’s probably GNA be stable to David peno’s hip pretty good way to boost your numbers up a little bit like I don’t think you look at what his this past year was for him of you know 44 points in 75 games where and he kind of alluded to it right like you’re going into the last contract you’re stressed out with that you kind of know early on Calgary is going to trade you you go to Vancouver where you play a lot on the wing and not really down the middle he gets bumped down to like 3C because they’ve got Pon and JT Miller up there like was kind of in a weird kind of limbo spot for most of his time in Vancouver and then uh played really well down the stretch and in the playoffs for um for Vancouver as well so uh yes is he a guy is he like you know this isn’t Leon dry cdle this isn’t like a guy that you’re going to be like all right wor set who who gives a [ __ ] whatever who else they sign right like this is a guy that is is a piece of the puzzle but he moves the needle forward for what your team is and what you’re trying to get out of your lineup so yeah is he a franchise fixture no and you can look at that money be like he’s not worth you know he’s not a Topline Center while you’re paying him Topline Center money 7.75 you look at this cap and the fact that it’s probably going to hit 100 million another two years could up get up to 110 million uh in another two years after that if you know you look at lintman in four years from now he’s maybe a 3C that’s what most uh third line centers are gonna be making in four years is probably seven six and a half seven million doar so again like you look at just especially the way the cap is growing and the ceiling is getting these teams more leeway if you’re signing guys like zorov now and lindol now and you know looking at Swan’s deal and you have poock and makoy sign long term like committing this money now I think goes a long way towards uh you know giving yourself more flexibility because all of a sudden these deals that maybe look pricey now can look pretty good in a couple years once you you know have this cap that’s going to keep on rocketing up with every new year and the other thing is like you’re signing to be your number one center now at least for the next two to three years most likely 7.75 is not bad for a number one Center like for what you want I I I don’t mind that um and you as Kevin says no but like you’ve said since the beginning of the show he’ll be an improvement over last year he’ll definitely be a 3C and three years maybe I mean again maybe I you know we’ll see you know what how Patra develops we’ll see if Leon triy ends up with the Bruins like there’s all these different things you know what what else pops up L um lero right he’s another a lot can change in a couple of years like again like it’s I know it’s dangerous to just be fixated on this year or next year but like a whole [ __ ] loogan change between now and a couple look at like the 2019 Bruins and how much changes a few years after that or even this offseason like again it’s one of those things where if you’re better right now with a again is he a topl line Center no he is a top he is a top six center Elias lolm and you you roll with the punches and see how things change like hell uh ptra could be a guy that you know is a a 30 40 Point guy this year if he has a full year up there maybe he takes off and he’s a 65o guy out of nowhere right I like a lot can change the way some of these guys develop is lysel a career AHL player or a guy that can’t take the next step forward or are we going to look at this next offseason and all a sudden lysel had 21 goals as a you know 21 22 year old player and you got something there you don’t have to allocate more money down the road like there’s a lot again it’s every team has the same conundrum in terms of these players and who takes the next step forward but um it’s something that at the very least you’re G to get some clarity and the Bruins have the means to you know get the most out of maybe these next two three years with sidorov and lindome and options to adjust that and change it moving forward well like we say you know like when when I I’ll hear on the draft like oh the the sharks have their next Center for a decade it’s like you don’t know that like in 10 years things change who what players last 10 years with one team not many not many and I think you know you look at how this you know this um contract for Lind Holm is going to shape out over the next seven years you know is he GNA be the number one Center for them in two to three years maybe not but I still think he’s valuable and I also think he’s an upgrade over Coy and zaka he’s an upgrade and he was uh arguably the best center available he fits what you need he fits your identity that’s the guy you go for I I didn’t see this as like a huge controversial thing as some other people saw it like this is what you needed you went out and got it like it feels a need um and I think that’s good and you look at like you mentioned like knocking everybody down here are the other centers they have zaka Coyle Patra Frederick geeky beer cellic like you have all these other guys that are going to be buying for you know whether it’s um the wings uh you know second or third line Center fourth line Center I think it’s going to be between beer and cellic for that fourth line you have geeki there as well like you have options there now whereas if you didn’t get lindol and I you just put your hands in your pockets um uh on the during free agency you know guys are in places maybe they shouldn’t be um and I think you know padra is an interesting example of like there’s no pressure on him going into this year to be something just there wasn’t last year uh but I think you want to see that growth um and all that stuff so Lyn Holmes an interesting case um you know again I think he’s going to work with posto it makes sense clearly posro must be excited because Sweeney mentioned it kind of immediately um as as a guy to for for him to play with um I want to talk about debrusk real quick because a lot of people in the comments are mentioning their sad Jake debrusk is gone um that he is off to Vancouver he gets seven years so he gets Herm in Spades seven years um five 5.5 million per again not bad for du Brusque uh and so I I saw someone mention earlier you know I’m afraid Jake debrus is goingon to become a star in Vancouver um I don’t know about star but I think he works out there like I don’t think like you know you pair him with Miller or Pon he’s out in western Canada it’s a new situation he has that long-term stability that he’s kind of always wanted here wouldn’t shock me if he goes off out there for you know the season yeah I mean listen jakeob BR is a good player I know he’s very polarizing right but we wanted them back yes we want back because again regardless of the fact that yes it’s it can be frustrating when you look at when he’s on his game you see a player that has the means and the talent without a doubt to be a you know routine 30 goal score right like we see it you see it in the playoffs that’s for sure um and I get that’s why it can be a little frustrating but you also look at the speed he he plays with uh his ability to elevate his game in the playoffs his I think especially his two-way game is something that um yeah Rick toet that will be interesting how that goes yeah the one that was the one hold up where I was like I don’t know yeah uh but no I think you look at um just what he provided especially just the way he grew as a two-way player right like that’s the whole thing is like I think especially last year yes it was not a good year for de Brusque offensively um in terms of building off of the fact that he almost scored 30 goals the year before that but he also like defensively wasn’t alive ability like didn’t mail it in defensively was good in the PK it was did a lot of stuff where again you could pencil him into the top six maybe don’t he doesn’t score every game or something like that but you could you could plug him in there he do a pretty solid job and there’s I you know probably getting a seven-year deal is part of that is just the security of what he can bring as a top six player as a a really solid two-way player and he should do well in Vancouver I was surprised I thought like where Don Sweeney mentioned on you know Thursday in Vegas that um that they’re pretty much like yeah we’re we’re not gonna talk anymore like uh that’s made me think like oh he’s gonna sign for like someone’s gonna give him like seven and seven or something crazy like that I was think I was thinking that too five and five is like I think we talked about that if that’s where the Bruin sign up to I’d be fine with it but whether it’s other circumstances um in terms of maybe a fresh shot something like that the Bruins again maybe just identifying they want to invest that in the defense instead um be really interesting to see how it kind of plays out that again it could benefit both groups right the brooms could have zadorov who adds his other element and they give lysel his opportunity we finally get clarity of what kind of player he could be and de brus goes has a fresh shot and thrives uh on a what should be a really good team in Vancouver so um it’ll be interesting to see how it all kind of plays out but de brus good player it it is very funny how they’re all the same thing go Rick tocket but uh again de Brusque uh good Brewing had a lot of Great Moments stepped up in some huge games in regular season and and the playoffs so uh we’ll see how it all kind of plays out but um yeah we’ll see with I mean you can’t have any maybe two more different players in terms of how you’re diverging your spending than like de Brusque or Nikita zadorov so see again I just go back to like they’re a different team now they are a very different team they’re aiming to be a different team uh they don’t want to be pushed around anymore we’ve heard them kind of mentioned that a couple times um and again like I agree with you I think du Brusque was a great Bruin you know was he consistent was he frustrating no to consistency and yes to frustrating but I think the overall like you know look at this these playoffs he was he was good in he was I think your leading Point getter um you know there was always that like you wanted him to take that next step um and just sometimes he couldn’t do it uh but again like the one hit from that 2015 first round uh so now they’re done they have no more 2015 first round picks anymore it’s official the curtain has closed I would love to know what the Bruins are offered because if you know again was it 4.5 was it five you know like what was it four five years was were they not going to give him term were they gonna you know three years I’m curious about that because again like you’re right the 5.5 is not crazy I think we both said like all right 5.5 is sort of the cap you’re not going over that but like 5.5 is like the target Zone um and and the Canucks hit that uh and so I think that that’s an interesting uh part of that element too um yeah I mean again I just think it’s it was a wild day for for you know the direction the Bruins are going in um they want to be tough they want to be strong and uh you know Vincent I don’t think you’re wrong like I I think they do need a top six Winger I will say in the Bruins defense though when you think about it like this um you the washing machine upstairs is like I’m losing my train of thought I don’t know what’s going it’s like jumping up and down I I can’t hear it so unless unless it falls through like the ceiling then then it’ll give me a jump scare then that might be that might be a little bit of an issue but I will say the one interesting thing um uh about uh um um about de Brusque um and in in sort of where they’re going is and what the Bruins have is you know you look at like the the farm system you look at the prospect pool right we said this a number of times after W spoon like who else do they have on defense that can step in and play you know every night they don’t really they didn’t really have anybody and that was our thing like that’s why go out and sign a veteran third pairing guy that can kind of slot in this and that but still like putting lowai on that top pair would be a risk but you look in the top you look in the the fourward group in the top six and it’s like all right well who do they have in the system that could potentially fit in the top six we have meroff and lysel and just because you don’t sign anybody now doesn’t mean you can never do that again and Sweeney mentioned that today of like you can address that mid-season at the trade deadline if it doesn’t work out but like it is an option it’s an opportunity to give lysel and merula a chance to show themselves so in that sense I get why they went with zador off I get why they invested in defense over offense um I still would feel better though if they had a little more offense and the top six for wings I think that’s the one area where I’m like a little but again you said it LEL could end up scoring 22 goals this year and suddenly it’s like all right well or got something LEL or or maybe he’s not but you know what you get you get clarity we finally can see like I think even you look at like we mentioned this today at Dev camp like like saw was there last year felt like he didn’t want to be like in that spot of like I’m ready give me a shot we’ll finally find out right like maybe he is this player that you know was kind of stagnant in Province dealt with some injury issues and you know it’s just waiting for an opportunity and maybe like they give him a Runway to see what he has and maybe he he thrives with the ability to show his speed and his skill at the next level or maybe it doesn’t work out but we’ll find out and I think this point you got to figure out it’s like last year with guys like Johnny beer or like even lorai or these players where it’s like you see the Intrigue you got to give them some some leeway in some time to develop and show what they can do we didn’t see anything obviously lysell didn’t play but you didn’t see anything from merula he played a couple games averaging eight minutes a night you’re not going to see what a guy who’s got the potential of being a middle six scoring kind of player can do under those limited reps so let’s see what they can do because uh at the very least you’re going to figure out what you have in this kind of next wave of guys that are knocking on the door in terms of you know internal prospects the only thing with that is I wonder the willingness of Jim Montgomery to play a guy like that in the top six to begin the year where it’s like you’re going to have Mist you’re going to have Growing Pains they going to be mistakes you have other options in the lineup who are not going to make those mistakes like geeki and Frederick and things like that um but yeah lysel hatrick versus Florida to open the season that’s going to be a show you’re right Ryan that is that’s exactly where it’s going to be at and zador just fighting everyone so zor D is going to do the gritty over like Matthew kachuck as as he knocks him over or like uh when the Bruins play the Wild Billy sweezy’s going to draw the lineup just to fight yakob blo again uh which will just be uh which will just be outstanding by the way I loved uh didn’t Don sweee mentioned the Billy Sweezy fight and was like oh yeah by the way like best wishes to yako all right see had to make sure he had to make sure he he checked it off so yeah we wish him well that’s my favorite thing the team say well we wish him well yeah um is Skinner still available Skinner I think just signed with sign with Oilers so he’ll probably score like 45 goals I was say uping year but staple him to McDavid and suddenly D’s got a lot of goals was intrigued by the fact that he was still in the market I’m like is he gonna sign a super cheap deal because that’s a guy that again could give you 20 30 I mean 25 30 goals like an ideal kind of Bio candidate but if you’re Jeff Skinner and you’re still trying to get probably another new contract go to Edmonton for a year light it up in a top six roll and revisit things maybe he’ll go to the Bruins next year when dry sideo gets there yeah exactly and he’ll get a ton of money and his second huge contract uh teraso is still available I believe I haven’t looked at Twitter in the last 42 minutes but um I think teraso is also still available as we record this again some people might listen tomorrow so the the Bruins add one Russian player on defense and all a sudden they just like they completely reverse course it’s all Russians moving forward they they see my last name and they’re like we want to talk to him and it’s like well I’m not even Russian but sure whatever sign them sign them sign them all um yeah it’s been an interesting day though again like I I just read an article in the athletic that had winners and losers they didn’t have the Bruins in either category like I think they won today I do I not like overall among all the teams I’d have to look like deeper into what each team did but for what they had for their needs like they solidified him and I don’t think they overp paid too badly like my only uh hiccup was like zidor off’s term like six years is a long time um and you wonder about Mason lyan where he’s going to slot in going forward but like they got better on defense they got better up front did they get as good up front as I wanted them to no because I wanted a wing but like they still upgraded they didn’t just sit on their hands and go yeah well and like sign guys that are lower down the dial like this works this works and I’m interested to see like as Sweeney said their roster is not going to be set going into next year no one’s is um so again I think the big thing now is you got to sign Jeremy Swan that’s the big thing you gotta avoid arbitration you know put together an offer for Jeremy Swan that works um because I think that is of utmost importance uh at this time but we can get into that another time uh we’re gonna cut this short here I know usually live streams go like an hour and a half two hours we’re doing during the playoffs I know we’re over like a thousand people watching this total so thank you to all who are watching we appreciate it thank you as always um Connor what could the people look forward to from you Conor's commitment to exclude the letter R from the alphabet is something else…
Are you guys from Boston or Britian? Because all you do is piss and moan… 😉😆
Sounds like a good signing…comparing him to Geekie gets me excited!
Really good at zone exits…oh my, our biggest need on D! Now to eliminate the other Lindholm…please!!!
Add Zadarov and minus Montour from Florida…big pluses for us!!!
You’re forgetting Poitras!!! Give him the time and he is going to shine!
I had to stop at 16:00…winger was more of a need than Zadorov? Did you see how we couldn’t ever exit our zone???
You DID bolster the bottom lines. The new guys pushed everyone down like Coyle. But scoring might be an issue next year.
Great coverage, boys!
They’ve finally acknowledged the fact that they can’t stand by idly while playoff potential opponents are Tee-ing off on your Goalies and Stars.
Marchessault would’ve been awesome with Coyle and Marchand
PASTA WILL NOT HAVE TO FIGHT THIS YEAR LOL,,,,
Somewhat bold take— Frederic is gunna hit at least 25 goals this season
So where does max jones fit in third fourth line
Do i spot a stationary ceiling fan? lol
You guys should really both record your own microphone audio for when it gets really choppy like that
Back in 2011 we won the cup due to our goalie and defense . Vancouver only scored 8 goals that series . Our defense was tough and shut down teams best players . Sweeney going back to big bad bruins ! Love what he did
Love the take..in 2 years it could look good..or in 2 years it could look bad..either way I reserve the right to whine about it
If I was Sayma
If I was swayman I would not sigh. F. Ck Boston. We have a gm that wants something for nothing and he sucked as a player
