2024 NHL Draft Selections: Jared Woolley (164th Overall, Los Angeles Kings)

right how’s it feel uh it’s unreal um I guess it’s hard to describe the feeling that he put in all the work and you get to this point and your name picked it’s special who’s sitting down there with you uh I had my mom my dad uh my brother and then my two grandparents when you heard from the London nights did your heart skip a beat what happened yeah uh I mean you hear that and you’re you’re hoping it’s you and uh turns out it was so it was it was enjoyable there you think back to what London’s mean to your development just how much have you grown thanks to the nights this year oh I’ve grown tremendously um when you first get in with them even when you’re just drafted they they kind of set you up for Success no matter what so um I owe a lot to them and and thank them for that when you look around your team tons of good draft eligible Talent how nice is it to go through this with other guys to during everything uh yeah it is nice uh you have guys that you can talk to um the guys who have gone through it and guys who are going through it with you so it’s nice to kind of Bounce things off them and and kind of go through it with them you ever been to La before I’ve never anything you’re looking forward to yeah uh I guess playing hockey in California how does it feel to put that Jersey on and then being the New Jersey this year I’m not sure if you’re where the change but the new logo was how’s that feel uh it’s amazing I mean it’s a I’d say pretty iconic logo so it’s pretty special and for the hockey fans in Los Angeles what type of player can they expect from you uh I think they can expect a solid two-way player that has a nice physical side to his game any familiarity any familiarity with the rest of the Kings Prospect pool any other players uh I’m not quite sure I haven’t really looked into that um so I’ll say no there growing up uh what type of players that you kind of idolized that you watched uh there’d be probably a mix of guys I grew up a Montreal Canadians fan so like I I did like watching guys like Shay Weber go through so um I guess growing up would be them or uh Alex Petra Angelo I like to say too yeah to score a goal or block a shot which one do you take I mean it would depend on the situation um I guess if we’re up one then I’ll block a shot if we’re down one then I’ll score a go away from the game of hockey what do you like to do uh I like to be outside golfing um spending time with friends kind of big on those things pretty good golfer I’d say I’m all right what do you think the OHL Championship run me to your draft stock as you went deeper and deeper and got more chances to Showcase yourself uh I think it helped me out um when you go go deep and you’re playing and and uh I think that helps you out and I think every team wants a winner so when you win you end up becoming a winner in teams like that thoughts on coming to LA on Monday Caleb be in there too uh I think that’s pretty special uh I mean Caleb came in at the trade deadline and he’s a phenomenal guy and I enjoy being around him so I think it’ll be pretty fun
