be gone before the start of the regular season so it appears as though Aiden Hill is going to be right here he’s not going anywhere at least for the interim I believe I’ll tell you why later uh Shay Theodore remains Numero Uno as far as our number one suspect to be the next man that is out for vgk uh what about Brett Howen I thought Zack whitecloud might be gone by now and there’s been some late chatter about Braden mcnf and about getting rid of his contract to create some salary space Bren McNab I of all the upcoming free agents we’ll hit that a little bit harder obviously in the second segment but I think McNab has a very reasonable value heading into the Twilight of his career if you will and maybe that’s a bad way to put it but it’s the right way to put it no I mean so McNab sure he’d bring a lot of value elsewhere but I mean McNab did so much right last he was our unsung hero of the season and everyone else is unsung hero of the season after that after our stuff all hits so you know that’s one thing to point out there um for me Shay Theodore I think is certainly the chalk right now it also depends on what the deal is that’s coming up um when I say deal I mean a possible trade right um Theodore it’s GNA be expensive next year he’s going to be expensive next year we’re not going to let the cat out of the bag but he’s going to be expensive next year we know that much and with what his projection is right now they’re projecting him to be a really good defenseman and he is a good defenseman but maybe what he might get compensated is a little more than maybe what his actual output is worth so Theodore’s stock might have just gone up by a simple report that came out that could be a piece for the golden knights there’s still some scuttlebutt and Trevor egress is being dangled out there Mitch Marner I think is all but all but cooked but you never know if the golden knights will try something like that but regardless of the path whether it’s in the offseason or when the season starts I think Shay Theodore is the first Target I wonder why the value of zigris has gone down so much apparently um yes he’s not happy going into the contract year in Anaheim uh but what are your thoughts and where would he fit in with the Vegas golden Knight we’re talking about Zess um you know Zess first of all before where he might fit in so he’s he’s got a flare right he’s he’s a Vegas guy like he he he looks like a Vegas guy someone that would just have a have a great time under the Vegas lights entertaining and not being a podcaster but he’d be a great Entertainer hopefully as good of a hockey player 31 games last season a lot of injury issues played 81 games the season before um 61 and 65 points and 75 and 81 games and then last season only 15 points in 31 games so he was pacing for you know he’s pacing for 40 points so Z does a lot of cool things on the ice he’s very good with the puck he’s does the lacrosse and the Michigan goals and the assist from behind the net like he’s got a great highlight package is his potential limited right now in Anaheim although they they got such a great crop of rookies coming up right now or if you put him along at Jack eel is he a 40 goal score with a flare for the dramatic okay without looking at cap friendly since it’s gone this morning it’s absolutely gone rest in peace cap friendly sad so I was gonna say without looking at cap friendly how much is Zeus’s value now his what his contract is right now I think he’s 56 right 56 52 yeah yeah and he wants an extension wants more money of course and maybe he’ll earn it and listen I mean I think if he were to get out of Anaheim and go to um Bridge bigger Market team because Anaheim does really well as far as that side but a team that could compete for a playoff run and possible Stanley Cup run Vegas is still in that conversation as much as we’ve both been dogging him but Vegas is still in that conversation and having a player like Trevor Zess who could you know scrape the floor scrape the ceiling of his potential in a year with a jack eel or a hurdle or who knows where he would come in the Vegas lineup would definitely help his value and it’s almost like taking a a bridge deal without signing contct that’s what I was asking yeah if he would sign a one-year deal and that perhaps could still happen I know the Rangers are a serious Contender for his Services as well about that y yeah vgk still has to make another deal correct they still have to make at least one total over under one and a half more deals how would you go have to I don’t know if that’s the way I mean it depends it what’s the plan and maybe this is maybe this is no plan there was no plan fine but now there is a plan there maybe there wasn’t a plan it wasn’t expected that everyone was walking in free agency in the marchas so situation egos whatever you want to put on both sides on both side let’s be clear on both sides when I say there was when I say there was no plan I meant yes they understood the players that we thought would leave are gone okay we all of our chalk picks are all gone including Marsh maybe the only one I thought they might have tried but even that ship sailed a month before free agency started right without a plan meaning to me at least that they didn’t know who they were going to go after and they probably went after a lot of the bigger names but they they failed because they didn’t have cap space or for one reason or another and again uh we St Co had a bidding war Stam Coast had a bidding war which I thought was going to happen too okay where did vgk get off on the stampco bidd War where do you think they said okay five to six million somewhere in that neighborhood okay in a short term well there’s two big issues here number one I think now bad perception with the free agents leaving um because there was a lot of shenanigans and lying here let’s face it by the front office number one number two more so than we have in the past we are hearing about players that are based in the East not want especially the ones that are the veterans or in the Twilight of their career they don’t want to travel anymore and so they’re going to stay in the East I mean that’s just something a known fact now right those are two facts right it’s fair it’s fair okay so that’s what vgk is up against at this moment yeah vgk doesn’t have a rigged schedule like they did last season not as rigged I should say so listen things have changed a little bit about the golden knights and number one as far as being you know a Stanley Cup comp competing team coming up in this season that’s a big question mark um so much needs to happen right now and part of what needs to happen I think is a trade I mean kind of sticking with the topic as we kind of go go up and back here a trade needs to happen and I guess the biggest question is are the golden knights going to force something right now you know the two the two suspects number one I think are are on the defense it’s it’s the higher the higher level um along the lines of Theodore and NAB and then players after that who what about White Cloud White Cloud is who I was going to say was in the dog house was okay White Cloud was definitely in the dogghouse he first he was sick then he got healthy scratched then yeah the team played some games with him throughout the season and C they give up on him him down a little bit no have they given up on him no I think that that’s even for for the medieval Empire Tony even for the med medieval Empire I think they are still very high on White Cloud that said the golden knights will trade nearly any player that they can I say nearly because there are some players with no movement Clauses but they will trade any player that they can if it’s the right move for now or for the not longterm but the midterm they’re not thinking eight years ahead they’re thinking in the next you know I think McMan thinks the Stanley Cup window is about four to five years right now which is why McMan wouldn’t extend marota five years cuz the Golden Lights felt March so had you know three maybe four productive years at that 5 to six million aav range and then the fourth Andor fifth season is when he was going to fall off clearly McMan looks at the looks at the expiring contracts no longer on cap friendly um but he looks at the expiring contracts and says okay this core is here for next four to five years or there’s going to be pieces for the next four to five years so that’s kind of what I think happened there is trading a white cloud going to help that window stay open for five years or Theodore or McNab it possibly could and the gold Knights are trading from a position of strength they are very deep in their defense I mean the gold Knights defensive core even without Alec Martinez and even Alec Martinez was a shadow of himself last season just from a health a health perspective their defense is still pretty good and there are two really good defensemen that can come in and play a full-time roow uh role pardon me in corac and Ben Hutton it’ll be very I’m really looking forward to seeing how kak’s game grows I’m really looking forward to see that and then you got a Lucas Cormier who can maybe pinch in in a spot he was all right in the couple games he played last season so you know a defenseman seems to be the likely way to go and if you do trade a defenseman you can also trade for a lower defenseman on another team someone who can true a minutes yeah those no trade teams we could find those perhaps on cap friendly no never mind cap Friendly’s gone uh so are there any AHL soon bro too soon rest in peace I know first cup first cup any AHL candidates do you think that vgk can part with this late I just remember wasn’t it Dylan Coughlin who was where didn’t we go to that Henderson silver Knights event with the grand opening at the m and then wasn’t Coughlin there you introduced me to the stinking who Dylan cogin you’re talking about whatever I call them I don’t care you call them cin cogin great okay he’s been trading for future considerations twice so that’s that shows where he ran so will they trade okay like cogin I’m not there yet I’m getting there I went to the country bar last night um so do you think that there could be an AHL vgk player from the silver Knights that would be included in the package or perhaps on the Block right now yeah Brandon bran no no they they’re no I was gonna say oh he’s a softball roster he’s safe right yeah no no that I’m going to talk about that in segment yeah I know I know I took I took your thunder there but bran is a possibility let’s be clear about that I think it’s unlikely but it is a possibility um Dennis enko wouldn’t bring enough of of a return you got a Lucas Cormier uh cord would probably be one of the best players that might possibly bring a return because a higher draft pick is kind of for Vegas terms at least and he looks the part right now so someone might be willing to give up something like the trade could be a package of a Theodore catur for a marquee forward and maybe a throw not a throwaway but you know a third line defensive pairing type of guy okay so the topic for the first segment was next man out so rank them number one Theodore still with a bullet moving up with a bullet now I think McNab I’m still thinking Zack White Cloud that’s it yep really fast to the first segment um er kissis I hope I said your name correctly on YouTube actually suggested talking about Shay Theodore and what might okay so we are going to talk about these AFP analytic predictions and projections uh shade theodors aav currently at 5.2 million and that was according to cap friendly before it went upside down this morning about 4:30 in the morning um so he’s coming off of a seven-year contract Chris would vgk up the anti like it says in their predictions at 8.32 five times 7even years there’s no way that shade Theodore and the wagu his girlfriend wife or whatever will be in Vegas for 14 years there’s no way that they will stay till the end there’s no way they will be here for four stay till the end that was good I mean the end stay to the end I had to throw that in there all right so let’s be clear about Shay Theodore number one I think he is a dark horse Norris candidate in a healthy setting in a healthy setting okay he he can get to that 65 to 75 Point range roughly a point per game depending on sh are you starting state run media had this whole campaign thing for about two or three games with petrangelo this is what I I wrote I wrote about Shay theor before the season started this is exactly what I said about Theodore before last season started Darkhorse Norris C candidate um his odds after I think the first 60 days got cut in half he went from like 151 150 to1 down to 75 to1 he was having that type of a season was it a North level season I think we could pump the brakes a little bit but was he having a very good season yes he was and then injuries happened two years in a row he’s kind of on the mark Stone path right now he plays about half each season he has missed I think 74 r regular season games in the last two seasons so here comes the the vgk faithful to drag me here well he got slew footed or born footed or bigf footed whatever happened it was a weird injury that caused him to miss a bunch of time I don’t care he got injured he got injured the year before I don’t care how he got injured so the vgk fans here this is confusing you have a player in Jonathan maroso who has played nearly every single game for the last three four seasons with the golden knights pretty close pretty close yes he’s getting older and everything at a significantly lower cap hit you know in the would which would have been closer in the 5 million range for the golden knights maybe five and a half whatever it would have been March so gone but Shay Theodore and is in playing you know 65% of the regular season games how could they let this guy go he’s projected according to AFP analytics to come in at the Ballpark of seven at 8.3 so looking here on puckpedia gotta get used to the new lingo here defenseman in the 7 to9 million range some of these players are definitely a bit overpaid and that’s what’s going to happen but you got Morgan Riley 72 games 58 points coming in at 7 and a half million Jared spers uh spers not a lot last year um Shay Weber is still actually ticking at a 7.8 million on the chart you got a Brent Burns who that his project his projection for the 25 season for Shay Weber it’s pretty funny if Shay Weber had one you got Owen power a 21-year-old defenseman at 8.3 Jake Sanderson a young kid doing really really well um now we’re getting to the 9 million range Roman Yosi who is that Norse level defenseman 85 points uh kale Marc’s cap hit is $9 million right now petrangelo who I value higher than Shay Theodore is coming in at 8 million Noah Hanahan who I value much more than Alex petrangelo and Theodore coming in at what is $7.3 million range is that what what 7.35 so some of this with Shay Theodore I think has to do with the rising cap we saw players get massively overpaid so I think part of that is the inflation that there’s going to be another 4 million to work with so Shay theor maybe goes from being a five and a half to $6 million player to a seven and a half 8 million player if that’s what the argument is okay I’m not saying I still agree with that golden KN giving pay him term and that amount of money oh they like their defenseman Tony they like they like giving term to defenseman and one thing I’ve been corrected on a lot I don’t know if it’s accurate but a lot of people have said it to me on Twitter in the Jonathan marcheso news is that defenseman seem to last longer than forwards when it comes to once you get to that 35 number so if that’s accurate okay fine I get what people are saying um but eight $8 million Shay Theodore does not $7 million Shay Theodore makes me uncomfortable and will he get $8 million somewhere I he might I mean if you’re looking at what happened I mean Chandler Stevenson got $6 million yeah whatever if we’re using that as our measuring stick then sh worth $8 million going into a contract year whatever vgk wants shade Theodore to have like a lousy Point performance season they’re betting against they’re taking the under on his total points so they could maybe lowball again 28 years old a 785 he won the Norris like come on like I don’t get it 28 I’ll be 35 if he goes seven more years nah and then 47 games 42 points injury concerns this past season including sece that told me Seasons okay but the source told me that there might have been another surgery there um in the off season for theater perhaps his back that’s what I’m hearing on the streets that’s what I’m hearing on the streets and I’m that’s not confirmed okay I want to talk let’s move on because we’re never going to finish the show if I could oh more players to talk about sure we these are talk about other stickies I have here from the sticky pad no um Aiden Hill uh they have him a pay cut from five million down to 4.2 million bgk sort of sort of sorta uh voting rooting against him so that they can pay him less it’s crazy yeah they are know Aiden Hill I don’t see a path to the golden knights extending him after this season I don’t I’ve been saying that since probably the spring this past spring that I don’t think Aiden or Logan were going to be back for the 2025 26 Season and over five million Aiden you need to go out and purchase some socks man we saw some photos like go get some socks bro okay Aiden Hill might get that money but he’s not going to get in Vegas that’s too much three three time three times 4.2 especially now if Aiden goes out and he has 55 appearances this year all bets are off pay not in Vegas but someone will and again we’re talking about AFP analytics and we like the work that they do and Nick hag four years at 3.87 million valued that and I I was going to say 73 games is past season at 2.3 you got to give him a little bit of a bump and I think that that would be a good fit so I am all in favor of uh upping Nick ha yeah Nicholas he just trying to pull some quick stats here um all right make sure you don’t go to C friendly you’re not gonna F I’m I’m on Hockey DB now I’m on Hockey DB okay uh he’s played let’s see in 212 or in the bubble year in the weird Co year he played 52 of 56 games 2122 52 games but then 81 and 73 games in the last two seasons someone who can I mean he I would love to see if the golden knights would explore going back to Hanahan and heg I would love to see that and then you put one of the other defenseman with um with petrangelo I don’t think Cassie is gonna do that he loves that like yeah they they are they have this l-w affair with petrangelo former Captain who acts like the captain right like of the team petrangelo is a good C petrangelo is a good leader in the locker room petrangelo is a very good leader hey 25 years old give him the $8 million deal give him eight8 times four that would be an absolute steal if they can do that okay you’ve got brayen McNab two years is the projection at $3.5 million uh he’s in the last of a three-year contract at 2.85 and if they’re going to keep McNab our unsung hero give him that bump give him a little bit of of the bump there yeah yeah I mean he he’s in the Alec Alec Martinez realm now right he’ll be 34 coming into his next contract give a seven contract sevene contract I’m okay if they were to find a way to extend McNab at his number maybe a little bit less would be better if they could get a little Hometown love but that that’s fine I mean for for someone who’s as reliable as McNab I think that’s a good number so up there in the 400 section where you said you caught a couple of pucks there two seasons ago from keing kisar stick uh kisar two years at 1.73 is the projection he’s currently checked in at 1.4 million and I think that’s fair in all of the criticisms that I give for kisar I think that’s a fair contract a little bit of a a raise there for him if they keep him eight from the scoring side 18 points last couple of Seasons he’s always around the net like for a fourth line energy grinder not a fighter but for a fourth line energy grinder 18 points is phenomenal he can go up if they need him to go on that third line in a spell every now and then um I mean I I say this right or not but is kisar going to be one of our 2024 25 unsung heroes when the dust settles who knows and I mean I value Kosar better than William KY to the golden knights lineup a lot of people are going to scratch their heads and then I’m going to remind you that William Kier cannot stay healthy to save his life whereas Kosar 7774 and 79 games in the last three seasons his worst Health season was the 2020 21 covid season where he played 44 of 56 games so still played 80% of the games all right and the as I say in Boston the pcking lot the parcking lot with the line that you know Park between oh yeah um preseason um Awards we should do someday before the start of the Season give out our yeah our preseason Awards I just okay that’s how we play I like that write that down Tony whatever we said in the first segment write that one it’s making an appearance around the town and that is how they are billing him he is the future and then Aiden Hill Aiden Hill Aiden Hill I almost called him heel Aiden Hill I feel named to the roster this is the way vgk moves I feel as though they are countering the appearance by the former vgk goenda Game Chris within a game going on so I’m guessing we will see if Hill is that goal tender of the future if they are all in so the prediction is Hill you’re saying Hill’s batting lead off and Logan Thompson batting ninth no I’m saying Hill will play six Innings and and Thompson 3 is that okay I can’t even say it’s just bizarre it’s funny it’s Tony I’m not I’m not I’m not fighting you back on that one it’s it’s a very interesting perspective and you’re probably you’re probably closer to right then you are wrong on that one I feel pretty confident about that I’ll I I’ll find out later I’ll find out later yeah people say we’re negative but we were negative and then Marsha Saw’s gone okay we were negative by telling the truth and what we had heard and everything else that was going on behind the scenes we’re not negative we’re were telling the truth so I reality sucks sometimes folks but bran Aiden Hill Aiden Hill is that do you think that that could be a counter move by the golden knights because Thompson will be out there getting all the accolades on his way out he’ll get the louder Ovation he’ll get the loud Logan Thompson Lou Thompson should play more Innings yeah no he wanted well he might ask might ask for a trade in the first inning I would ask for a trade to the Raiders I would do that I’d request a trade God maybe they’re gonna move me because I think the rosters are in balanc maybe they’re going to move Thompson to the Raiders side now I mean listen it’s sport work interesting the golden knights have their ways of doing things and we’re probably overthinking this a little maybe no we’re not we’re not we know honest to God Tony wouldn’t surprise me if they found out Aiden was in town pick up the phone like dude you gotta do this tell the dude to wear socks tell them to wear socks there was aoto I’m curious like last year we were we were asking Stanley Cup questions in the off season and all these positive and you know questions and stuff and this year it’s going to be different because we will get to interview most of the players that are there and get a couple questions in and um be curious to see you know what the response is marcho’s name will probably come up with every single interview and curious how that gets and Logan’s name should come up with every interview as well and um yeah it’s gonna be it’s gonna be a fun day it’s gonna be a fun day it’ll be fun being out there talking to some of the players and hanging out and yeah this is a PR event on the annual for the Vegas golden nights and its foundation and this year maybe the timing was off or they I’m surprised that they even announced that the softball game was happening and they
