hello everyone I’m Jeff Alis lock on MLB draft expert as well as the co-host of lock on Guardians and this is an MLB draft player profile we’re going to go to the number six player on my board who happens to be the number five player on the mlb.com board that is Higgin Smith left-handed pitcher from Arkansas Smith is a player I’ve really gone back and forth on he was outstanding arguably the best pitcher in the country this year he’s not going to turn 21 until August he’s one of the youngest juniors in this class but the other side of it is his command and control have been a little bit shaky he had Tommy John in high school before he even got to college and on top of that he’s kind of a two- pitch guy right now with the fast ball and the slider they’re both excellent pitches but you really need a solid third pitch to be a starter one of my abiding rules is take players who Excel when they shouldn’t and Higgin Smith with what we saw about college baseball this year shouldn’t have excelled but he constantly did the Lefty is an extremely exciting pitcher who has a chance to be a number one starter with a solid floor of an elite reliever
