[Woj] Free agent G Daeqwon Plowden has agreed on a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors, his agent Drew Kelso of @onemotivesports tells ESPN. Plowden has been one of the stories of summer league — averaging 16.6 points on 54 percent shooting and 48 percent on three’s.

  1. Congrats to him man.

Curious how his defense is – obviously a crucial part of the game for any player that’s on a two way and trying to make his mark. Looks like he made all-defense team in college for his conference so that’s promising.

So what does this mean for Spencer / Post? I still haven’t seen anything conclusive about if either is definitely on a 2 way contract.

  2. Woj initially used a picture of Bolden and had to edit it for a pic of Plowden lmaoo Good for Plowden tho

  3. Who is getting moved out? Spencer, Beekman, or Post? Maybe we convert Post to a standard contract?

  4. Absolutely earned it. Cracking the rotation will be tough, but the guy has shown he deserves a chance. Hope he makes the most of it!

  5. The way he played, I’m surprised a team like Detroit or Charlotte wasn’t willing to give him a guaranteed spot.

  6. Love that they got this done now. He’s been incredible in summer league and the fear was always that someone else might poach him if we didn’t act fast enough.

Now the big question remains about what this means with Post. Are they going to cut Pat Spencer to free up the 3rd two-way or is there a trade coming soon that will free up a roster spot?

  7. Can’t wait til midseason when Melton has 2 or 3 bad games and this sub throws a tantrum saying we’d be a top 3 seed if Kerr would just play Plowden more.

  8. Does anton know his measurements? This guy definitely bigger than 6’6 and probably has a 7 f wingspan 👍🔥

  9. Cracking addition, dude looks ready. Curious to see who gets dumped from their 2way spot between Beekman Post and Spencer

If a Podz Lauri trade happen I think they hold on to convert Pat for PG depth. They would need to dump someones guaranteed money tho cause of the hard cap

  10. Wrong guy in the pic (altho i hope bolden also gets a shot)

Super happy for plowden, a guy who i was very intrigued by after gm1 of summer league. Can absolutely shoot it, has size and athleticism, and goes hard at the rim looking to posterize someone when a lane opens up. Short sample size obviously, but defensively he reminds me a lot of moody… looks kind of slow, but has the arm length and enough anticipation to keep up and be a pest on that end.

Love this signing. Hope it works out long term

  11. “Plowden has been one of the stories of summer league…” How so? What is his relationship to Lebron?

  12. I obviously love that they signed him, but signing him before Post and making it so that someone else needs to be dropped in order to sign Post is interesting. Wonder what’s taking them so long with Post.

  13. Love it! Improvement at the end of the rotation may not seem like a big deal but some bad injury luck can change that fast.

  14. Good move. Looks like we have lots of depth at guard / wing and are a bit high on payroll. Would be nice IMO to make a move for a big, ideally with a net reduction in payroll to sneak under the luxury tax apron and get out of the “repeater” category. That would give us some freedom to go over next year without it being excessively painful.
