How the Bills can trade for Brandon Aiyuk & whether they should do it

Matt Parrino is joined by Mike Ginnitti from Spotrac.com to break down how the Buffalo Bills could attempt to trade for disgruntled San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. What numbers for a contract are we talking about, how does that affect the cap (this year and beyond), and can the Bills even do it with current cap restrictions. Then Matt and Ryan Talbot give their thoughts on whether the Bills should consider the move.

  1. The Bills should try to get Aiyuk. Allen is in his prime . new stadium in 26. Allen should re-work his contract .
or But maybe not and having 30 million a year for multiple new guys …

  2. Pick up Justin Simmons instead….
The Bills keep getting eliminated in the playoffs by touchdowns to guys in the last minutes of games….The Defense is the weak link in the playoffs…. Too many "" serviceable "" DB's
Time for younger agressive stars in the safety room….
I wrote this comment at the beginning of this video before you finally started talking about the weakness that is really holding back this team…
Travis Kelce making our CB's and Safeties look slow and impotent every year is friggin' embarrassing…. The guy's not even a fast TE…Nobody touched him in that playoff game last year…He just meandered, zig zagging 30yds. into the endzone untouched… Pitiful…😢
    Forget expensive receivers !!!
Make the defensive backfield the absolute best it can be like your guests Mike alluded too…They might not win double digit games like he said…. Let that sink in….
We have great LB's but they're small and the year long beat down causes them to miss important games…
31 year old Leonard Floyd was the only edge rusher with 10.5 sacks while they have 2 young guys in Groot and Epanesa that totally dissappear at times…They better pick up the slack now that Floyd is gone or oppsing QB's are going to have their way with this Defense…

The Defense will stop them reaching the top again this season….
    Mark my words….
And McDermott and Beane might be on the hot seat because of it…As they should be….

  3. Undersized? Douglas and Benford are both 6’1ā€ and 6’2ā€. Plus they just drafted a safety that’s 6’2ā€ in bishop? Even Elam is 6’1ā€.

  4. We have -2 dollars in cap space and he requested a trade bc they won’t pay him plz tell me how this math is mathing šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜‚

  5. Did we win the SB by trading for Diggs and then paying him???? So why make the same mistake again??? What's the saying? Stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting the different results… No team has won. a SB after trading for a big name WR in the last 20 years…. No team has won a SB after forking out big money for a WR in the last 20 years…. No team that drafted a WR in the first round in the last 10 years has won the SB … WR don't win SBs

  6. This dude is wrong when he says the team had to have 14 million in cap space to be traded. It’s just not true. We see people sign deals all the time that adjust cap when they are signed. Plus is ignores how the cap ACTUALLY WORKS. It’s not a thing that is constantly checked on, and has to always be perfect. There are specific dates when you have to be below the cap. There is a way. This guy couldn’t be further from the truth. Plus San Francisco could just eat 2 million dollars to make it happen, again something that happens ALL THE TIME. I’m sorry, but this dude just doesn’t know what he’s talking about. And it’s not ā€œreal difficultā€ at all. He says things like ā€œJosh is capped out for what you can convertā€. That’s not true either. Like c’mon man, do you not remember them specifically leaving an extra 7 million in room with Josh? And I don’t even want Ayuik on the Bills. I just want truthful information, something this guy continuously failed at. There’s so many ways to make it work. The cap is the least of the Bills concern in making a deal. And I wouldn’t care if the things he said that ā€œdidn’t happenā€ were actually rare, but they aren’t rare, they’re common. Teams can totally split up money when they make a trade, it happens ALL THE TIME. Players can agree to a deal with another team before they are traded (provided they have permission from the team trading them), it happens ALL THE TIME. You can also be above the cap at certain times, for a certain amount of time, it happens ALL THE TIME.

  7. SMH we don’t need Aiyuk and his ridiculous price tag starting next season! Spend that money on the DL. This team needs an elite pass rusher or two. Hopefully von can give us something. Groot Oliver and AJ stay healthy. Give that line another weapon. Aiyuk can go somewhere else!

  8. It seems that every possible big free agent or trade is always linked to the Bills. We always hear from Brandon Beane that they do not have the money. I do not understand why the connection. Please help me understand this.

  9. Everyone: "The Bills can not afford to trade Diggs, they won't do it". Everyone after the trade: "We know nothing". Until I see something to refute that I still believe "we know nothing".

  10. Not interested in Aiyuk. We can’t afford the price tag. We don’t need the ego. I like our current group of WRs and the culture of the team.
