11. If the Leafs were willing to trade Marner for draft picks and prospects then yeah, they could definitely do that, but that's not at all what they want to do.
    When it comes to a "hockey trade" moving a guy with an $11m contract and Marner's numbers is damn near impossible to ever get a return that will actually make the team better. That's simply reality whether we like to admit it or not.

    We wanted big changes but I get the feeling they unfortunately wanna test the core 4 with the new staff

18. So the forward group is the same except Bertuzzi is out and Robertson wants out. Defensewise, you are betting on 35-year-old puck-blocking machine Tanev to stay healthy, and hoping OEL will perform like he did in Florida, not Vancouver. And you are definitely taking a gamble in the crease. Shanahan must be living on a prayer. This team is not a contender in any universe but might give fits to anyone they face in the first round.

20. I think Hakanpaa either gets signed partway through the season when he’s healthy or he goes on LTIR to start the season if he isn’t ready. Either scenario gives them a little more cap space for Robertson and Dewar.
