I didn’t include players on this list who had short stints in Québec but then followed the team to Colorado and had longer stints there (like Peter Forsberg, Uwe Krupp, and Sylvain Lefebvre). I feel like those players fit into a different category.
John Tonelli – I actually don’t think I have ever seen a picture of him that wasn’t with the Islanders but he did get around
Greg Millen – look at that equipment. Even Vasilevskiy would have a gaa over 3.50 with that
Hextall is also behind Duchesne in his pic
Gelinas and Tonelli blow my mind. I conceptualize them as playing in two completely eras with other franchises, but they were two years apart in Quebec.
Clark looks so wrong.
I had that John Tonnelli card
Greg Millen (11/20) looks more ready for a game of road hockey than ice hockey. What a fit
I’m just waiting for Tampa. That one will hurt me the most.
Garth Snow rocking a ‘murica fuck yeah mask while playing for a French Canadian team is certainly a choice
Hextalls mask was awesome
I thought Hextall was with the Nordiques longer than that.
Garth Snow was drafted by the Nordiques and played in their farm system. It’s not unusual that he played for them.
Was expecting Kulikov to be on here honestly
Garth Butcher is a fantastic hockey name.
Guy Lafleur playing for Quebec was incredibly unusual to me.
The weirdest for me is Lafleur. Doesn’t seem right outside of a habs uni
This is an interesting one, since a lot of these guys would seem surprising except that they were part of either the Lindros or Roy trades. Those were some turbulent years for this organization.
I had the Doug Smail Pro Set card as a kid, so it seems perfectly normal to me.
Claude Julien looks like he escaped Sunnyvale Trailer Park.
Fuck me this team had drip
Bring back the Nordiques, I want to hate them.
I have definitely never heard of John Ogrodnick, and was about to make a joke about him being on this list…but then I quickly looked him up and the guy had 400+ goals and 800+ points (including a 50+ goal, 100+ point season). Wow. The 80s were a crazy time, man.
So many Flyers went over to Quebec on that Lindros deal.
Smail coached my kids.
OMG! Thank you for doing the nordiques. Bring em back!
I’ve never heard of Garth Butcher or Michel Petit but I’ll be damned if they don’t look EXACTLY like what I’d expect based on name alone.
God i still love these set of sweaters, the re-design that was to have taken place was going to be awful. The Nord-wolf!!!
T-bo!!!
Kinda funny. I actually think of Hextall on Quebec before anything because of NHL ’93 back in the day. I would play as Quebec a lot and he was the goalie, so it’s always stuck for me.
Hextall’s goalie mask with the Nordiques was bad ass.
Just wanted to thank you for these, absolutely a trip every day. Look forward to every new installment.
First one with two guys I legit didn’t know played for the team. Tommy Albelin and John Anderson (in my defence, I was three years old when they moved to Denver).
Seeing these Parkhurst and Top Set cards is a time warp
Wendal Clark was very unusual and he even did a commercial as a Nordique.
Best looking picture of Timmy Hunter I ever did see.
Smail keeps blowing my mind on these. I loved him as a Jet but didn’t follow where he went after ‘90-91, and he keeps showing up on random teams.
What no Guy Lafleur?
I like the smell of opening a pack of O Pee Chee’s in the morning
Special situation: Maurice “The Rocket” Richard was the coach of the Nordiques for their first two games in franchise history in 1972. He went 1-1 then ended the venture.
10/10 look for Hextall, helmet and all white pads are cold af

0 games played, but still weird
The tongue flop on Gelinas is epic

I miss hating this team! I want them back!
A few misses :
[Mats Sundin](https://www.hhof.com/graphinduct/sundin01.jpg) (Though is was 4 seasons so I get why it’s not included)
