There is Still Reason to Believe in This Atlanta Braves Team

As bad as things have been this year for the Atlanta Braves, there are still plenty of reasons to be optimistic going forward.

The offense has looked better as of late and should get a boost with the return of Michael Harris, while the starting rotation should get a jolt with the return of Reynaldo Lopez.

Nothing has gone the Braves’ way this year, you have to believe that will change at some point.

  3. Hi Jake. Sorry I missed the live podcast but was at church nominating committee meeting and just got home after 9 pm.
    I am not a quitter either. While extremely frustrated, I believe this team can turn the season around and make it to post season.

  6. It's tough to pull for a team that shows no fight or desire to win. I've seen more confidence and swagger from Girl Scouts selling cookies than this team has. How about once they put out some effort worthy of watching, then I'll start watching again?

  9. This was an outstanding win tonight. Yes this team is able to turn things around. I agree whole heartedly Jake that this team can make a run for the playoffs. Will they? That’s yet to be seen without putting together a consistent winning streak. With that said, if they don’t make the playoffs considering how underperforming this team has been injuries aside, would it be a surprise? No. I don’t see them making it past the wildcard round. Now if they were to turn things around and make a legitimate run at the playoffs, well that would be a big improvement. #everydayer

  17. Jake, with Micheal Harris coming back on Wednesday, what do you think the corresponding move will be?. I figure AA will probably just option Eli White back to AAA. Honestly I would like to see a DFA of Duvall and keep White as a speed option off the bench. I know Duvall can get a hold of one here and there, and play solid defense, but man he swings at every bad pitch he’s thrown and seems like he’s a dead strikeout in every big spot. Just curious as to your thoughts.

  19. I know Ajss and Waldrep have dealt with injuries, but they still haven’t impressed me this year. I expected more out of both, and I also feel like they rushed Waldrep to the majors early this year, when he clearly wasn’t ready.

  20. We could have very well seen the last of Minter in a Braves uniform, due to his reoccurring hip injury, and the fact that he’s a free agent after this season

  23. The Braves have the better chance of playoffs if they can get 3 of 4 from the giants. That would knock the giants way back off them. Cardinals and Mets both have tougher schedules than Atlanta. Mets have something like 13 of last 16 games against above .500 teams.

    I think the return of Harris will be that spark that adds speed and energy to this line up. Harris lengthens this line up. I would really like see him hit either 2nd or 9th give him a chance to get on in front of the big bats
