  1. I don’t follow camps much but I assumed he’d atleast show up? I guess he was at the dev camp so that’s something, but maybe he’s focused on having a good year in the league instead

  2. As someone mentioned below, his season will be in full swing when training camp starts, so it’s probably better he stays in Sweden and focuses on his season rather than interrupt it to attend camp in Detroit.

  3. Their seasons in Sweden usually wrap up much earlier than North America if I’m not mistaken. Maybe he plays out his season over there and then makes the jump right to GR?

  4. Look forward to seeing him on the ice in 2027.

This year in Sweden, the year after that in Grand Rapids where he will be injured towards the end of the season, which means they won’t let him start in Detroit the year after so yea sometime around 27 or 28.

Youth movement starts this year LMAO.

Yea if by youth movement you mean keep two kids who aren’t waiver exempt around in the press box, and the 6th overall from THREE years ago, and then sign 15 more meh free agents, then yea here comes the youth movement.

If Simon can carry Petry the whole season, he will for sure be NHL ready, his back may be shot, but thems the breaks.

    sigh.

No other spots for the kids, sorry Marco you get to ride the bus longer, but hey you can play cards with Nate now.

  5. I thought it was a bit weird when it came out – I believe most overseas (or at least SEL players) don’t come over for training camp, so MBN is an interesting exception. I guess they want to see how he stacks up against NHLers, perhaps?

ASP made even less sense to come over – I know people want to see him acclimate to North American ice/life ASAP. The Wings have 8 defensemen on the NHL roster, then like 7-8 AHL-bound defenders, plus I think maybe 2-3 guys signed to AHL deals. Him playing meaningful minutes for Skelleftea really makes the most sense this year.
