Prospects are defined as being Calder eligible

  1. I get that people dont like Logan because of what happened but finished 3rd in the entire ahl in defesnman scoring as a rookie, is an ideal size and good skating RD and he still cant crack top 90 is ridiculous

  2. I do think Will Smith belongs above Demidov but this is otherwise a good list.

I’m prepared for a breakout season by Geekie with TB as well which might have some question why he’s so low here.

  3. They seem to favour recently drafted players quite hard. Nikishin is the best D prospect in the league yet they ranked him at 24.

  4. The Lightning has exactly 1 player on this list that I can see and we just got him in a trade.

The future is the past and the days ahead will be filled with a few ageing superstars keeping the dream alive just enough that management and fans wont want to move on.

    I regret nothing.

  5. 7 guys for Montreal and Chicago. ~~, 6 each for Chicago and San Jose.~~ The Habs and Hawks have some great talent already on their rosters. They’re going to be scary…

Meanwhile, Boston with just one guy at #87. Is there really no one else?

  6. I’m happy to see Musty is finally getting some recognition. Dude can be an elite forward in the league.

Sad not to see Cagnoni there, who I personally think is the sharks best defensive prospect.

  7. I think the Sharks picked the player they needed in Dickinson but Zeev would have been great too.

    1, 10, 15, 21, 45 seems like a nice start.

However I do wonder if 2-10 are good rankings or just recency bias from the Draft.

  8. It’s complete homerism but I am really excited about Jonathan following his world Juniors.

Also the Canadiens’ prospect pool est profond en esti

  9. Fabian lysell has 87 points in 110 ahl games and is only 21 years old, meanwhile dean letourneau has played two games outside of high school

  10. Every time I see Ivan Demidov with a Habs logo beside his name I get so happy. Can’t believe we actually got him, easily the best prospect we’ve had in decades. Just gotta be patient now but it’s all coming together!

  11. Call it bias but can someone explain to me how Stankoven isn’t in the top 10. Transitioned very well from the AHL to NHL and provided the Stars with another solid forward. He also has to be one of the clear favorites for the Calder

  12. After the atrocity that was our farm system just some years ago, 5 prospects in the top 100 for the Wings seems like a pretty good thing.

I also really enjoy seeing Owen Beck and Zayne Parekh on the list. Hoping they do big things at the NHL level

  13. I think they’re quite a bit too low on Axel Sandin-Pellikka (won Swedish Defenseman of the Year award despite being a teenager) and Nate Danielson (I firmly believe he’ll be significantly better than Marco Kasper).

  14. Iginla at 9? Wasn’t he being mocked as a mid first rounder until the breakout at the U18s? Is he actually a top 10 prospect in the league or is he up there because of his last name?

  15. Jackson Blake

Top 3 hobey baker finish last year alongside Cutter and Celebrini

Nowhere to be found on the list or honorable mention.

  16. Luchanko and Yager are more important to their teams than some in the top 40. They should be much higher.

  17. Del Mastro had an incredible year last season. Really looking forward to see if he continues to develop into a late round glow up player.

  18. I love the wee lil shade of sennecke ranked 9th amongst recent draftees while picked 3rd (demi over cayden as well)

  19. Lindstrom way over will smith is bonkers

4th overall in an extremely top heavy draft >>>

4th overall in a weak draft

  20. Again,

    PUT HUTSON IN TOP 10

People are underrating him way too much. He’s going to surprise a lot of people, and I’m not even a Canadians fan.

  21. Nikishin below Simashev?

    Yurov below But, Chernyshov?

    Their Russian scouting looks horrible

  22. Yurov at 46 is insane.

The whole list is questionable, but Yurov deserves more respect.

  23. I am starting to get the feeling that Parekh could be the steal of the 2024 draft.

Idk if he was overlooked, but the more info I see on him the more and more it looks like he probably should have gone in the top 5 of the draft.

Obviously this could be biased, but I usually like to believe I’m reasonably impartial.

  24. It’s crazy to me that firkus put up more points in the WHL this last season, lead not only the WHL in points but the entire chl, won chl player of the year and they put him down in ranks. Also no goyette who led the ohl in points.

  25. It always confuses me that people have Cristall above Miroshnichenko. Miro has elite skating, and an elite shot where his only downfall was health(which he seems to be fully recovered from), and if he can adapt to NA ice, which will be easier with his skating ability. Cristal is just filled to the brim with playmaking ability, but his talents shine when he is the one carrying the puck, the problem with him is that I don’t know if he can get his skating to NHL level to be able to do that. I guess Cristall has more upside, but is the ultimate boom or bust prospect, while Miro has the tools to be in the NHL today, just needs to learn the ice a bit better.

  26. A total of 3, between 55-64. Average number present, but not exactly inspiring confidence for the future here…

  27. I love (not really) that the Sabres 2021 draft completely inverted. 2021: Savoie #9, Ostlund #16 and Kulich #28 => Today: Kulich #53, Ostlund #57, Savoie #74.

  28. I honestly wish prospects lists like this were more available like they are with baseball. Would definitely help the casual fan learn more about their teams prospects and how they compare to the rest of the league.

  29. Surprised Wallstedt isn’t on the list? I know the plan right now looks like he’s AHL for most of the year but I would say that’s the case for a lot of these guys. Feels odd to leave out a consistently ranked #1-3 rookie goaltender
