Thanks for the memories Heyward 🤟

  1. Wasn’t great this year, but he was solid in 2023. Always seemed like a beloved guy in the clubhouse and a great veteran presence. Made some good plays over in RF. Tough choice had to be made for the roster crunch. Best of luck to him in the future.

  2. He could always go down to AAA and have an opportunity to come back. Unless there are other things going on that we aren’t aware of. All it would take is 1-2 injuries. I know that’s probably unlikely but for him, at this point in his life/career. What else is he going to do for the next 2 months?

  3. As much as I love CT for everything he’s given the team this was a bad move imo, should’ve kept Heyward and DFA’d CT

  4. If he chooses to retire, that’s a hell of a last AB to go out on. Thanks jhey 🙏

  5. Assuming this was his final stint with the team, what a way to end his tenure! A pinch-hit 3-run bomb!

  6. Man, I feel like this is a mistake. For his clubhouse presence alone we should have kept him. Big leadership/locker room guy. He’ll be missed forsure

  7. Glad to say I witnessed that last AB in person sitting a few rows behind home plate !

  8. Goddamn shame – dude has been so clutch recently and would’ve been great to see him try to get a ring with us :/

  9. You see the emotions flowing from him and his teammates even the coaches after that last homerun. I think they know this is bound to happen. Even the first one on the field when Flaherty and Arozarena were yapping. Hope another team still pick him up except Padres and Diamondbacks lol
