Best overall defenseman in Canucks history.

I’m going Quinn Hughes, putting up an unmatched pace of point throughout his career, first Canucks dman to win Norris.

  1. Quinn is going to win, so I’m just gonna shout out some of the great defensively orientated guys we’ve had recently like Ohlund, Tanev, and Hamhuis.

  2. My interpretation of this is not that it’s the best defenceman, but rather the best defender. And quite honestly I think if you’re trying make an entertaining grid you should get as many different people on it as possible.

    Therefore my vote is Tanev

  3. Quinn without a doubt…. also I really hope mark messier sees this thread…. lol fuck messier

  4. Elder vs Hughes. Hughes easily after his James Norris win. Puts him in the category of elites (Orr, Coffey, Chara, Lidstrom, Bourque, etc..)

  5. Quinn Hughes. But honourable mention to Sami Salo. Highest +/-, most game winning goals, big minute muncher when not injured.

  6. Ryan Kesler, the best shutdown defensive forward the Canucks have ever had.

    (HONOURABLE MENTION: Mike Peca)

  7. Im going to go with Alex Edler here, although you could talk me into Matthias Ohlund.

We all know Hughes is the most talented, but if we’re talking about *all time* these guys were absolute work horses for a decade plus in the league.

  8. I feel like this needs to be “best defenseman not named Hughes”, because it’s so obviously Hughes… kind of like how the 2nd place position, for all time NHL points, will be celebrated likes it’s the #1 spot (Gretzky’s record is simply unattainable).

I would therefore vote for Ohlund.
