My curiosity is how much of the bullpen pieces and this team as a whole being put together piece by piece is directly related to Craig Counsell’s influence?
How much say and direct influence has Counsell had in the added roster pieces, the tweaks to batting or pitching approaches, etc.
What it seems like has happened to me is that Craig “inherited” a so so Cubs team. And it took a while but he has now made it his team, at least far more so than at the start of the season.
Out of all CHGO shows, this one is by far the best.
Hendricks sucks stop with the excuses
I know the standings say they're 3 games back but it's really 4 seeing as they don't hold a tiebreaker over any of the teams in front of them.
I'm happy they're playing good baseball finally but I'm still firmly holding my stance on them not being able to make the playoffs. Maybe they pull what would likely be one of the greatest August/September comebacks to make it into the playoffs but I don't see it happening.
Biggest concern is though Hoyer uses this stretch as a reason to leave this lineup unchanged for 2025.
What sucks is that you have so many Cubs fans thats actively rooting for them not to make the playoffs bc they’re fair weather asf and they don’t want to look bad for openly ditching on them and the season with a lot of them giving up weeks even before the allstar break.
