A little bio from Anthony:

He's the co-author of "The Captain," David Wright's memoir released in 2020, and is a regular on-air contributor to SNY. 1. Hi Anthony, with the impact of Grimace on the team this season, what are the chances that the Mets entire season is a carefully crafted narrative brought to you by McDonald’s and Grimace?

  2. Have you heard anything about the Mets officially naming Lindor captain next year?

A good amount of players in the clubhouse have already come out and said he’s the captain. Mendy and Stearns have also publicly said they believe he’s the MVP.

  3. If you were planning a feast consisting only of Astoria takeout, what dishes would you pick? You can only choose one dish per place.

  4. Any favorite hikes? Happy to show you some great ones next time you’re in San Diego!

  5. Hi Anthony,

Do the Mets have optimism that they’ll be able to bring back one of or both Severino and Sean Manaea in 2025?

What have you heard from around the Mets org on Brett Baty’s future with the club?

What’s your favorite road ballpark/city to cover the Mets in?

  6. Is there any chance we call up Luisangel Acuna or Jett Williams or Drew Gilbert once the minor league season is over and get rid of DJ Stewart once and for all? Anyone but Stewart…. anyone!

  7. Hey anthony,

Any chance the Mets are Luke Ritter come up at any point to give them help later in the month, or is Eddy Alvarez going to be that guy moving forward?

  8. Genuine pleasure to have you here.

What are your thoughts on what might be plaguing Alonso as of late in the offensive department?

  9. We keep hearing on the broadcast about how the goal is to get Francisco Alvarez to hit the ball to center and right field. Per Baseball Savant, he’s hit more (a lot more) balls to the opposite field compared to last season but the results are worsening.

Do you have any insight into the coaching staff’s thoughts on why this approach isn’t working out, especially in light of Vientos’ success while hitting more flyballs to the pull side?

  10. What does the org think about the future of Baty/Alvarez? Are any minor league guys underrated?

  11. You’ve been covering the Mets since 2007.

In that time you got the witness Adam Rubin has lobbying for a position, Yoenis Cespedes falling into Springfield’s Mystery Spot (now with boars), Kevin Plawecki having a massive dildo in his locker (not his), Jason Vargas threatening to fight a peer of yours, etc etc.

What’s been your favorite ridiculous moment to witness? Which one was most blown out of proportion?

  12. What is the best prank/joke you’ve heard one of the players pull in the clubhouse? I know Syndergaard and DeGrom were notorious pranksters. Any comedians on the current roster?

  13. It’s post apocalypse and you have to pick 3 Mets players to work with to survive the walking dead. Who are you picking to have the best chance to survive?

  14. Hello Anthony, thanks for doing this. What’s the best Mets story you were never able to put in your newsletter? Thanks.

  15. There’s a lot of discourse on this subreddit about Mark Vientos and his defense. Many people claim he is one of the worst defenders in the league, despite Mendoza, Lindor and other Mets complimenting the strides he’s made defensively as a third baseman. I know he’ll never be above “serviceable” at third, which I believe he is this year, but what is your take on his defense? If Mets resign Alonso, can Vientos realistically hold down at the hot corner for the near future?

  16. I’ll ask you the most impertinent question that has been on the mind of every Mets fan this season: is David Peterson good?

  17. Who is a Mets player/prospect you saw in Spring Training over the years that you thought was going to be a star and never panned out?

  18. What do you make of Mendoza’s bullpen usages? In recent days we see very little Brazoban and Stanek, and a ton of Maton and D. Young. Do you feel like going to the same guys over and over instead of spreading out the workload is a winning strategy?

  19. Hey Anthony I’m a little surprised you even knew about Mets reditt I’m ngl 😅.

My question is one that I’m sure is on the one of most Mets fans minds at this very moment:

How likely do you think it is the Mets will be playing playoff baseball? And if they do how far do you think they can go?

Thanks for all the good work you do!

  20. Hi Anthony,

Thanks for doing this! I was pretty excited to see Ryan Clifford come to the Mets in the Verlander trade last July, but his bat hasn’t progressed this year as much as I’d imagine the Mets hoped he would have in AA (despite good walk/power numbers). Do you think he ends up contributing to the big league club any time soon/projects as a full time player still?

  21. Can you start posting what you eat at every stadium again? Or have it pinned on Twitter so we can reference

  22. Anthony, who do you think are the realistic targets for the Mets this offseason?

Outside of Soto and maybe Pete, it feels like Stearns isn’t the guy that would give more than 6 years away.

And even there Pete feels more like Cohen pushing to retain a homegrown star.

Do you see the Mets realistically considering an 8 year deal to a guy like Burnes, or a a Bregman, etc.?

  23. Hi Anthony, thanks for your tireless reporting. Out of the potential opponents the Mets may face if they make it to the first round of the postseason, who do you think the Mets are best positioned to beat based on strengths and weaknesses in a short series?

  24. Enjoy your work, Anthony.

    1. On a scale of 1-10, how much of a bromance do Steve Gelbs and Wayne Randazzo really have (mostly a joke/act or legit)?

    2. Do you feel that Mets fans in general are appropriately pessimistic and skeptical of the team and management or are they overly critical?

  25. Anthony, what do you consider to be the most underrated uniform in Mets history? Trying to think of a question not many people would ask lol. Have a great day and LGM! Thanks for all you do!

  26. Good afternoon Anthony, who do you think has had the biggest transformation/ growth in the Mets clubhouse this year so far?
