  3. I think, by trade deadline we should have a top Dman wanting to join the oilers, especially if we’re 1st or 2nd place in the standings. So hopefully we’re playing great by then

  4. I'm not sure that Skinner can make a great run to the Final again… I want to believe it but ehh, I think there will be even more pressure on him next year and it might get to him.

  6. Shouldn't be no movement clauses, no trade clauses, should be able to do whatever you want for someone you spend a buttload of money on. Maybe even arbitration to show you have to pay them less for underperforming. Like jonathan huberdeau and others, able to pay them less for not performing like you hoped, paid them for and/or trade them where ever, screw the no movement or no trade clauses.

    Ceci was a defensive liability, Desharanais was a big guy who could hit but lacked good skating or luck moving, and Broberg was an overpaid unproven prospect. Tell me, what exactly did the oilers D lose in value?

  13. Idk why it’s such a big talking point. All they need is a 2nd pair Right dman. Their 3rd pair will be rly good and we know the top pair is top 3 in the NHL. Watch Bouch finish 2nd or 3rd for Norris voting and skinner will be top 10 goalie.

  14. lol this is a funny narrative the east likes to push to make themselves feel better. Ceci gone is addition by subtraction. Broberg played 10 good games, but skinner had a .988 save percentage when he was on the ice, everyone will look good when your goalie practically saves everything. Vinny is whatever, he was scratched in the playoffs anyways and 2M for a 7th d is insane. They stayed the same, but with the cap savings available to add at the TDL, they became better

    Until training camps over we don’t even know who’s going where 😂 nurse is a fine second d, he’s just expensive and Kulak is a great 3rd pairing D.

    A little bit of chemistry from a member of the training camp for Kulak, and a pickup at the deadline to pair with Nurse and you have a good defence core.

    It’s just unknown who’s playing with who other than the top pairing
