Nets fans, what do y’all feel like the career trajectory of Cam Thomas is gonna look like? Over the course of this video he’s compared to Kobe, Lou Will, & Devonte’ Graham. I’m feeling like his career could go any direction, but at the very least offensive domination is guaranteed in Brooklyn.

  1. High end: Peak Beal (bonafide all star)

Mid end: Peak CJ McCollum (one tier below star)

    Low end: Lou Will

  2. Cam Thomas is better than Devonte Graham will ever be. Cam Thomas just needs to be a more willing passer, which he showed flashes of after the all star break*. I think in a DHO heavy offense, Thomas will have more chances to improve his passing/playmaking

  3. The highlights of Cam’s first three years are pretty spectacular already given that he barely played in his first two years and got inconsistent minutes last season and was benched by JV who was the worst HC I’ve ever seen in the NBA.

Cam has elite of elite scoring talent and he’s still so young.

I want to see more of an all-round game from him this year so give him more responsibility on court to play make and defend. He has the physique to body other guards the same height.

Cam will be our first option and our late clock option and if he can continue to score efficiently he will be a star. He’s target should be to try and get 50/40/90 seasons. His three point shot is improving but he doesn’t need to resort to shooting all threes, he’s got such a varied bag.

I’m not worried about W-L this season because I want to draft a top player in the 2025 draft. Put more elite talent around Cam Thomas and a rising tide lifts all boats.

CT will improve with a Cooper Flagg (or similar) playing alongside.

I honestly don’t think it’s crazy to compare Cam to Kobe (their first three seasons in the league are quite similar – Kobe transformed after that) when it comes to scoring. Obviously Kobe was All-D which made him a complete player and CT is unlikely to emulate that.

I think Cam has a lot of KD in his game. The ridiculously hard shots that he takes (and often makes) which only 1% of the NBA tend to make.

We’ve seen Cam have multiple 40 point games. This season we need to see him take over games even more and have 50 point games. That is the next step.

His goo ld court vision needs to create easy buckets for Claxton/Clowney/Dariq.

I’m really bullish on CT and Dariq being a devastating combo together.

  4. I’d say the potential is Celtics Isiah Thomas. But stretched out for 3-5 years if no injuries occur

  5. He’s good and I’m glad he’s on the team and I’m excited to watch him all season on this roster

But let’s not get it twisted. This subreddit would be trashing him nonstop if he was on any other team and the Nets had interest in him in any non tanking situation

  6. Kenyon martin said on the gilbert arenas podcast that cam thomas can be on par with spider mitchell. I agree. Just a little more time. Or he can be similar to monta ellis or better.
