FOUR STRAIGHT … UNSTOPPABLE !!! My people, WHAT A VICTORY by Manager of the Year Oliver Jose Marmol and his St. Louis Cardinals (the GREATEST team in the league REGARDLESS of record). Get the brooms out! Our squad is going 85-77 to IMPROVE from last season's FLUKE of an under .500 finish.
Thomas Darren Saggese, DO YA THING ! In the top of the second inning, the 22-year-old from Carlsbad, California gets the offense rolling by SMASHING an RBI double to right field, driving in a TRUE catcher, Iván Aaron Herrera.
In the top of the third inning, Brendan Michael Donovan, the 27-year-old from Wurzburg, Germany, has a SLICK sacrifice fly to center field, bringing in UNDISPUTED Rookie of the Year Award winner Masyn Blaze Winn!
ANOTHER TRUE catcher Pedro José Pagés, a SUPERSTAR before our very eyes. In the top of the fourth inning, the 26-year-old from Maracay, Venezuela BLASTS an RBI single to left center field, sending Jordan Alexander Walker to the plate!
In the top of the fifth inning, co-Most Valuable Player of the League Paul Edward Goldschmidt, the 37-year-old from Wilmington, Delaware, notches the CRUCIAL sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Masyn Blaze Winn.
Pedro José Pagés, HE AIN'T DONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the top of the sixth inning, he SMACKS an RBI single to right field, letting Iván Aaron Herrera cross the fourth bag.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, WOWOWOWOW !! The FILTHIEST of FILTHY #SCTOP10 double plays as pitcher Ryan Dalton Helsley FIRED to shortstop Masyn Blaze Winn who then HURLED to first baseman Paul Edward Goldschmidt. That PROVES the STL is not only the best offensively, but defensively, too!
ONG ladies and gentlemen, that was a Cy Young Award performance FOR THE AGES by Erick James Fedde, the 31-year-old from Las Vegas, Nevada. TEN jaw-dropping strikeouts! LOTS OF PRAISE also goes to Andrew Michael Kittredge, Matthew Joseph Liberatore and Ryan Dalton Helsley (48th save this season; ABSOLUTELY GOATED by the 30-year-old from Tahlequah, Oklahoma) all part of the best bullpen in the league, for the HISTORIC finishing off.
Heya peeps! If you wanna see my hubby ❤ Mitt's comments just go under the "newest" tab.
Mwah! 😘
Thank you Libby, for gifting Helsley another save opportunity lol
Where was all this fundamental baseball all this year? This is a well played ballgame
Respect for Helsey getting his single season save record. ❤
Unbelievable that for all the times the backup catchers hasn't played much at all we now have 2 backup catchers that are both offensive and defensive standouts. How many times have it been that we only have defensive catchers that can only bat just above the Mendoza line and bat ninth.
So next year, it will be Alec Burleson at 1B and Donovan at LF with Sagesse at 2B? I am sad that we had to go through Edmon and O'Neill to get here but we definitely need more stable Starting Pitchers.
