This was a poor loss, but Will can do better!!
Will Levis looked anything but a franchise QB today. In fact, this felt like his worst game ever as a starter and that’s with all the new weapons and additions. He did nothing to elevate this team and the players around him.
Extremely concerning is an understatement.
There was a ton of roster turnover and an entirely new coaching staff. Will Levis is not it. But he’s going to be just good enough to get you out of the range of a top QB.
Will Levis is not the guy. He will have to prove me wrong moving forward. I'm not taking up for him anymore. It's the bonehead plays that just makes me feel like even if we make it to the playoffs or Superbowl in the future, he will find a way to make a dumb decision just like Tannehill
Told yall we need a qb lol
Defence was fantastic but Offence just stalled. Special Teams was an abomination. No idea what happened there but the blocked punt completely turned the game.
Mason Rudolph will take this team to the playoffs if he starts soon enough.
Franchise quarterbacks don’t allow other teams to come back from up 17 by not scoring another point in the 2nd half. This loss is insanely deflating. We are so far away from ever winning a Super Bowl
Definitely Levis’s worst of his 10 starts.
Silver lining-defense was awesome!
Special teams looking like 2023 version.
Burks name needs to change to “Waldo”. Where is he?
Great coverage guys! Thanks!
I feel like they ran the ball to the right way too often considering the weakness there.
Silver lining- it’s only 6% of the season. I am of the opinion that a week 5 bye might be a good thing as it will give coaches time to reevaluate and regroup.
Yo my guys, I know you are into stats and things like that like how you told the stats all completion percentage per yardage, and I know you're probably looking for some stats to make you feel better about will Levis but he stunk and he didn't seem very intelligent and he seemed a little immature and he might not be the man, if he looks like that one more time or for even three more quarters I put Mason Rudolph in and start trying to figure out our quarterback plans for the future
In this trying moment there’s only one thing to say: Boosting the algo, baby.
Keep up the good work, fellas.
This may just be a very typical titans year. Our defense will win games and keep us in the games we lose, the offense will underperform, and the turnover battle will decide each game. Time is a flat circle, and the titans will once again be average to below average.
Mason should get more 1st team reps this week!
If I still drank I would be drinking to holding a team to 149 yard and losing!! That along with being up 17 to 0 was most frustrating. So I’ll be drowning it out with cookies and ice cream instead. My silver lining would be the defense in general! Swear and Simmons look unstoppable
The miss radius on a few of levises deep balls were concerning to me. Anyone think it’s just a fluke? I always thought he threw a pretty good deep ball but man he missed outside the white lines wayyyyy out of bounds!
"Manage the game and protect the football"…that doesn't sound like Will Levis coach.
"Be a risky gun-slinger"…that's what you're working with coach.
The defense was incredible. This seemed a little like deja vu from last year's game one with Tannehills Interceptions plus misfires and a blocked punt lost them that game. I agree with all your comments about Levis. There at the end I know it's are the end and he just threw the ball up with someone open underneath. He never moves out of the pocket, I feel his pocket awareness isn't good.
Great, I watched 2 hours and 45 minutes of commercials only to be stabbed in the heart.
That was ugly boys. Will needs to be better. Defense looks good. Titan up!
Sweat looked super good I think what’s yalls opinions Justin’s?
Everything seemed off in periods on O and ST no panicking to be had! We win out to the bye now 🤪
no way we’re going down this path of “he looks good” after 9 completions and a loss
Calm down blinky it's one game , I see you want to shit on Levis but give him a few games
As a Bears fan I STRONGLY disagree! That PICK 6 was one of the most beautiful displays I have ever seen.😂 BEAR DOWN!
I defended Levi’s time after time he going to need to bounce back. But right now I’m out on him.
Brutal collapse. An all timer. Just hope the fact it is so insanely, improbably bad supports the week one is a fluke hypo.
Gotta stay patient in the first 4 weeks, especially week 1. Take things with a grain of salt. Let the kinks work themselves out. Defense was outstanding. Secondary looks great and the depth there is also great, especially with Adams. Murray looked like a general and Ernest made plays in limited action. Jack Gibbens could get cut for all I care with that blown block on the punt. Sweat was great and it’ll be nice to have him eventually help Jeff make impact plays. The offense…sheesh. BUT it’s almost an entirely new offense, with the best returning weapon a shell of himself, and a new HC calling plays for the first time. It’s no wonder it froze up against a good defense. Now, we have to hope Cally and Holz and especially Levis can learn from a real low to start off. For inexperienced players/staff, the best teacher is failure. Give them time, and allow them to make mistakes. September is a weird month in the NFL. It definitely matters in the big picture, but the playoffs aren’t made in September, or even October. I will save any real definitive judgements of this team for AT LEAST after the result of the Colts game. This is a long process. Titan Up!
I thought overall happy with some of the stuff I saw. My concern with Levis is that he will constantly revert to bad footwork, the drifting left on a fair number of drop backs is a concern. Whatever arm mechanics he has been working on seem to have worked for short passes but the deep accuracy seemed a bit worse. Still very early days. Hopefully the defensive side of the team doesn’t get too disheartened before the offence figure out stuff out. Can’t see us keeping DW passed this season as DC, firmly believe he’s Head Coach bound if the D stays like this.
Levis made one good throw to Ridley who sat down in the zone in the 1st on 3rd and Long and he also made a good read on the TD to Okonkwo with the CB back turned to the ball. Frequently with his throws his footwork was at sloppy, throwing from an unsettled base and drifting and gets him into trouble. He took unnecessary hits running the ball and got hit in his back which could have impacted him when he underthrew a deep ball to Burks. He did have better ball security in first half taking the sack and throwing at receivers feet when under pressure. But crumbled underpressure in the 2nd half and reverted to riskier throws and poor decisions.
Positives
– Dennard Wilson's Defense
– The defensive line Sweat, Simmons and Coburn bringing interior pressure and closing the pocket by Landry, Key when Caleb would start to scramble.
– CBs Sneed, Mcreary and Brownlee Jr in run defense and snuffing out quick throw screens
– Blitzing of Ernest Jones pancaking the C, Amani Hooker and Kenneth Murray
– Pollard running left behind Latham and Skoronski and Spears pass blocking and pass catching out of the backfield
Negatives
– Levis turnovers / decision making, footwork and pocket presence
– Special teams blocking and return coverage
– Not enough variety in attacking of short to intermediate routes ( I didn't see many slants, comebacks, choice routes or use of Dagger for crossing routes under a go route etc.). The short routes were Naked keepers to TE Vannett, RB screens and check downs (this is still okay if best option and take what defense gives you, but sometimes needed to scheme up better options for Levis to help with better decision making
– Spamming Shotgun runs with Ridley in a fake motion were predictable (at least run a pass and target to Ridley to bait the defense)
Like the optimism of others its only week 1, need to see up to Week 6 Colts game whether Levis shows improvements on his work ons and makes better decisions and Callahan and Holz can get this offense going. Bring on Week 2 and the Jets.. TitanUp
