  1. I knew this would happen with Husso. I have no confidence in his ability to stop the puck anymore and I don’t get the impression that he cares as much as he used to. Ready to move on. Also, why is Chiarot on the second PP unit? I really don’t like Lalonde.

  2. In game 2, Veleno had some good chances 5 v 5. Berggren had some shots and may get some chemistry with Veleno. Johansson looked solid. Responded well to make some smart plays under pressure. Didn’t look overwhelmed. Hope he continues good play.

  3. After Game 1, I looked at the schedule for October and thought "There's a world where the Wings don't get a win in October."

It is not an easy schedule for them out of the gate. Stealing a game from Nashville, after giving away one of the more winnable games of the month vs the Pens, was huge not just for standings, but for confidence going forward as they play what should be some tough games this month.

  4. kryskow is such a downer. The glass is always half empty and he misses a lot of the good things happening. The bottom six was solid, maybe not spectacular, against a stacked Nashville offense.

  5. Talbot tied Sean Burke as only goalies to get shutouts with EIGHT DIFFERENT TEAMS. At 37, this is Cam's swan song year and he's highly motivated to go out on a high note. Husso's injuries have caught up with him and he probably won't see the NHL again.

  6. I would like to hear your commentary on Rasmussen. Two years ago I thought the "unofficial" direction the team likely gave him was to emulate David Perron's game and last year, I thought he was somewhat effective at it. As the year progressed and what I see this year, I struggle to find where his style of play is helping the overall team structure. Ras has a whole lot of wait in his game, meaning he does not attack plays. He also has developed this odd inability to skate with the puck. He will dump the puck to the corner on one-on-one's. I am just wondering if I am on an island in this assessment, but if not, when does the team leadership start to make adjustments (i.e. scratch the lad) and perhaps bring up a player like Kasper.

  7. "You're not gonna see the Copp's in [the press box] very often, you're not gonna see the Berggren's in there very often…"

If they're sucking, you should see them in there. It shouldn't matter if you're sucking as a kid or as a vet, if you have bad games, you should be sat.
