  1. Fourgiev is problem one. Frankie retiring due to injuries is another.

Another MAJOR issue is Val and his drug issues. His bullshit getting banned for 6 months shows just how much they need him. Why have they sucked since winning the cup? Val has been suspended or "walked away from the team" when they needed him the most EVERY year since the cup run. Start this season and val is still suspended until November. There is no player on the avs right now that does what Val can do, and their shitty start is proof of this.

  2. You sleep heavy on Justus Annunen. He was good last season and really should be getting more starts this season. Really just depends on how stubborn Jared Bednar chooses to be. Georgie can't be starting 55+ games again.

  3. 3:30 landeskog in't a center tho, he's a winger that mostly plays on the left wing. currently avs 2nd line center is mittelstadt and during the cup run of 2022 the 2nd line center was kadri (who currently is the 1st line center for the flames) but anyway he is a huge loss to the avs.

  4. I like Rantanen. I see people recognizing his abilities somewhat often, but I still feel that he is one of the most underrated snipers in the league, just because he's playing with MacKinnon.

  5. I would like to say if Georgiev can steal a goal or two and play by the book and not try to cheat so much some of the games would be a lot closer he has let in some soft goal as well. Another thing is if Landy cant come back as a player I would like to see him as a coach for our team I think he would be good behind the bench.

  6. I don’t know how much you’ve seen of the Avs in the first few games, but the depth from the other players aren’t the concern at the moment. It’s Georgie allowing basically 1 goal for every 5 shots. He was bad last year, had a decent playoff performance outside of the first game vs the Jets, and is back to being terrible again. No team can survive long term and make a legit run with goaltending like that. He either figures out how to be consistently good or will need to be replaced.

  7. Jimmy I love your videos and breakdowns and I know you might not think of it but I think you would make an amazing podcast still same format as these videos but just without the video. I still love the videos and keep up the hard work bc you are pumping out videos

  8. Huge concerns about their goaltending. Very little reason to have confidence in Georgiev or Annunen as of now. I'm shocked the Avalanche haven't parted ways with Nichushkin. Good player, but he has let them down two years in a row in the playoffs.

  9. Idk how you put this out saying landy in a 2nd line center (winger) and poolman being a forward. If things go well landy will be a third line wing. Annunen needs to play, the plan seems to be him in net after this year

  10. First off Landy is not a center, Poolman is not a integral piece to this team at all, and have you not seen Middlestadt play hes been everything and more for this team! The fact that there holding on with the crucial injuries they have shows there depth in there young guys stepping up in the form of Ritchie, Kovalenko, and Ivan is why there able to stay in the games. Season just started but Georgie has been getting better each game. When you have 2 of the 3 best players in the league and another top 12-15 player you will always have a chance in any game

  11. Serious question: How high were you when you recorded this? It's 5 games. No goalie is over-played after 5 games. Landy is NOT a center and has NEVER even come close to being one. Toews is not a forward. Georgie has simply not been good enough. Even average goaltending puts them in cup contention even with the injuries. All that said, if they get average goaltending and get healthy? That is one scary ass team.

  12. And, dude. No help? Lekky will be back and Drouin is a massive help up front. LOC is back this season. Ritchie looks like a great rookie. And the Russian kid is looking promising.

  13. Ìt has been a tough year to start but I believe the underlying numbers, outside of goaltending are good. My favorite player her in denver is Logan O'Connor. He is 100% effort hardworking player that we call the mayor of Denver as he won two championships in denver. What a stud.

  14. Avs would at least be 3-2 if georgiev was better. I think they beat the isles and blue jackets, because a lot of the goals he gave up in those games were really bad. Especially in the blue jackets gane, some of those goals would have been easily saved, but they go in anyways. Also the ducks were really lucky to even get an overtime, dostal played out of his mind and the ducks got lucky bounces on 2 of their 3 goals.

  15. The Avs organization was more irresponsible to not address their starting goaltender needs. Georgiev is not a good goalie. He proved that all last season. At best, he’s an inconsistent/streaky goalie that will either be hot or ice cold.

I don’t care what you say about injuries and such…the Avs are giving up 20 shots a game and their goalie has a sub .700 save percentage at times. That is Georgiev’s fault. The Avalanche aren’t playing worse defensively than every other team in the league. Goalies in Anaheim, Montreal, and Chicago all have better stats than Georgiev (dating back to last season), and you can’t convince me that the Avs are worse than those teams defensively.

Just look at the ducks game that Colorado just won. Dostal faced nearly 50 shots and only gave up 4. Georgiev nearly lost the game while only facing 19 shots…he sucks and the guys playing in front of him know it.

Should the Avs have brought in a solid backup? Absolutely! Also, should the Avs have stuck with Georgiev as their number 1? Absolutely not
