1. it is time to move on from Hamilton or one or two core guys. I cant see Devils go over the hump with those guys. Devils will become the second Toronto but at least Toronto make playoffs and battle it out there even it is always a defeat

2. This is the type of performance that gives Fitz PTSD and flips the team in the offseason. Looked exactly like last years team for the entire game, and look where we stood after the season was done. Players should be getting the message that if they can't step up, step out. On the other side, it proves there is tons of work to be done. 1 bad outing doesn't mean the season is lost, but this teams mentality needs to change in order to get off these losing streaks and start being successful.

3. Didn't get to see the game — was watching Smile 2 in theaters (very good movie). but I digress.. looked like a horror show on the ice as well. hope they can right the ship.

4. I was actually getting excited for a comeback and then the one goal that bounced off the boards and in as well as that Mercer penalty deflated my hopes. Imo we only lost by 1 goal. However with that being said you can’t expect to give up 5 goals a game and win . They better blast Detroit.

5. What worries me are the same habits coming back, regardless of coach or goalie. They’re still giving up goals in bunches, with horrible defensive breakdowns, still getting run over on home ice, still no response to big hits… still, I agree that it’s early, and this is very much a work in progress.

7. Agree… MacDermid definitely needs to be in the lineup more often! Hit on Bratt with no response is unacceptable…
   Really happy to see Bratt was able to stay in the game… he’s tough; hits like that are no bueno

8. I will continue to say goaltending is only as good as the defense in front of you. It won’t matter who’s in the net if the defense continues to give up high leverage opportunities. The good news is Pesce and Hughes are on the way. Hopefully they can provide some help. Optimistically speaking this team can certainly put the puck in the net. They just have to continue to keep it out of their own.

9. I was there last night and having massive PTSD. At times they look amazing and capable of a playoff run. However most times, they look like last year's high school team. The worst part is you can just see it. They score and then fall apart. We should have been more competitive. Also, the team just does not shot the puck. We get shots when the game is already over. The second goal for Tampa was a perfect example put the puck on net and see what happens. If we get close to Thanksgiving and still playing this way, either get a new coach or unpack the golf clubs.

10. That hit on Bratt changes the game. The team folds like a tent and no response. People keep talking about scoring. Paul Maurice said the biggest change that he created when he took over was having the team scoreless and focus more on not giving them up. This team, as constructed is a problem. Talk about the response, Palat passes the puck, Jack well… what's Jack going to do. Before this game, Im reading how Devils fans on group pages yapping about how much crap Tampa was because Toronto blew them out the night before. I knew Coop would have his team ready and they have Kocherov. And this should also shut out those up who constantly give excuses for losses on back-to-back. How bout playing some defense and keeping the puck out of your net, how about standing up for your teammates and embarrassing yourself in front of your home fans. Sorry, Ace, this is a soft bunch, and it's in their DNA.
    Ownership needs to hire an exorcist to get this crap out of their system. They arent young, they arent learning, and they haven't won over 3 in a row since 2 years ago.

12. New system, new players, players coming back from surgeries. There are a lot of factors that play into this. One of the Tampa commentators, Brian Engblom, mentioned that Jack was off to a slow start, likely the result of offseason shoulder surgery, which can take time to trust it again. There are Devils fans here who were literally calling Jack a bust. 🤣 We're definitely living in the "Me now" generation. New Jersey legit got punched in the neck last night. They will come out next game and respond.

13. It pains me to see glimmers of last season in this past game. No retaliation on the Bratt hit? Wtf is that cupcake shit. And Pesce better be in the lineup soon because his continued absence is really starting to irritate me

14. Ace I got to be honest with you. Last night was a huge disappointment. They didn't play well versus Washington and I expected them to come out with a stronger effort against a team that had already played the night before. Hats off to Tampa Bay they're going to be a good team this year but if the devils want to be good they got to compete. This was an awful performance. Every fan has the right to boo and to yell and to leave early. That was a terrible game I couldn't even watch it. Every team's allowed to have a bad game. Including the devils. But when nine games into the season and it's not like we're dealing with a whole bunch of injuries. Overall I'm not impressed. I'm trying to give them a few more games because it's early in the season but last night was bad.
