Cole pointed at first base, but didn't run over as a basic action to take as the pitcher.
It looked bizarre the first time I saw it, and each time on replay.
More like he's motioning to Rizzo: "Hey, run. Hurry up." While he's not attempting to help out!?
Padres and Yankees were clearly the better teams but Padres were rude and low class and the Yankees sloppy and lazy.
joey votto must be a commentator or analyst for mlb.
A game of mistakes…for the Yankees. A game of opportunities… for the Dodgers.
Cant remember Ohtani and Judge the same because one started good and got hurt, but won! The other didn't get started until the end of the 4th game, had a blunder and lost! Great players and series.
Joey Votto's career is kind of slept on. His stats are really similar to Freddie's. He NEEDS to be a commenter or coach or something.
a guy not finding his swing for an entire post-season until the last game, isn't the same as a guy being MAYBE 40% physically. judge is a good dude and of course it sucks FOR HIM, but what happened to judge is not the same thing as what happened to shohei.
More votto🙏
Nice War Games modem, Joey. Spare no expense. 🥴🤦♂️
Wrong. Any hit grounder to the left the pitcher goes to first base. Period. Cole gaffed harder than jodge or volpe. Inning would be over. Dodger fan celebrexing. I love hellay!¡!!¡!!!
watch the first innings, exact same play. easy play . wtf
Such BS analysis. Even if everything he says is true (it's not), Rizzo was much closer to the bag than Betts. He made zero effort. None. He could have beat him out if he made any attempt.
Aren't all world Series historic events?
Hey Votto the Dodgers did have a class A pitcher to come in and that was Blake Treinan but obviously you forgot that most of our starting pictures were injured so he came in and pitched in the sixth seventh and eighth inning.
NOBODY'S BLAMING ANTHONY RIZZO!!!!
I'm with Votto on Rizzo's read. The last thing he wants to do that moment is to have a Bill Buckner error. Judge not catching that fly ball is a head scratcher.
The pitcher should have attempted to help cover 1st base. It should have been a natural instinct no matter what. It's just a lazy culture in the Yankees organization. Players constant lazy avoidable errors that cost them big time. Love Dodgers, they played hard not matter how bad it looked for them. I wonder what the odds were in Vegas for a comeback odds for the dodgers to win when the 5th inning started with the yankee's up 5-0. 1000 to 1. you could have retired taking that bet.
Bad news Bears (Yankees).
Joey is awesome.
Votto no World Series has 100% clean games making this segment about himself 😅 the two teams are nothing you’ll ever know
Btw Shohei played very well in NLCS
I'll give Shohei a pass because this is his 1st WS white Judge has been in the playoffs almost every year.
15:25 Votto missed the boat on the Dodger pen. They had to use their high leverage pen incredibly early in Game 5, this is why they were running out of arms.
Judge looked great, he was patient. But they focused too much on practicing hitting that they forgot they had to play some clean defense too 😂
This play will be the signature play of Mookie’s HoF career. Like all coaches teach Pony League players, the pitcher has to cover 1st…and just as importantly, the batter MUST run hard in case something happens.
A World Series may have tipped on Mookie hustling to first on a probable ground out…
Yankees fan keeps avoiding the elephant in the room with the 2024 WS. It's not the 5th inning in game 5 that's the problem. It's dropping the first three games to the Dodgers. If the Yankees could have managed a split in LA and they split the first two in NY wich they did then game 5 would have been a temporary setback and not the epic embarrassment it was. This series was lost when the Dodgers took the first three games.
You can’t love baseball and hate Joey Votto at the same time. Impossible
We need a lot more Joey Votto in baseball media
