Gold Glove Awards (x2): Brenton Doyle and Ezequiel Tovar make history as best defenders in MLB
Ezequiel Tovar won his first Rawlings Gold Glove Award for best defender at shortstop becoming the youngest in NL history at the position. Brenton Doyle was honored with his second consecutive win in center field and first to do it in the National League over their first two seasons.
That wasn’t all for the Colorado Rockies. Kyle Karros, 5th round pick in 2023, won a Minor League Gold Glove Award with High-A Spokane for his defense play at third base. Couple with winning the Northwest League MVP, Karros is a strong candidate to shoot up prospect rankings ahead of the 2025 season.
Were any Rockies snubbed by not being named as a finalist for the Silver Slugger Award? Who had the best case to become the first Rockie to win the award since Trevor Story in 2019?
Plus, GM Bill Schmidt makes his first trade, 13 players receive a qualifying offer, the Oakland Athletics change their name and the numbers on the 2024 World Series viewership are official.
